Some dimwit put it out there that you don't need money to make movies. True. Then some moron gave suggestions that supposedly didn't require money to do so. Whoops.
Many on the outside have zero clue what it takes to make a movie. A camera and actors and so forth. The YouTube template create this, which is fine but now many people think they understand the nuts and bolts. True. In the most basic function possible, they do. Point camera at your friends and have them do things. In a cruel twist of fate, these will be the people who start to make projects that go theatrical...IF they improve their discipline.
The problem is...most people won't. Writing and reading suck. I enjoy it once I get going, but it's a slog to get there. It is a discipline. Gathering people together. Another discipline. Life moves on and people have other responsibilities. We get old. And we get tired. Most will quit.
So young folk...sink your pennies into something you have faith in. Drop the people who don't believe in you.
