Merry Xmas 2021!

A lof of people in Hollywood don't greet each other with "Merry Christmas" It goes to show that a lot of the town are godless heathens and would rather never address the fact that it is the day of a man called "Jesus" I 'aint a religious type BUT, I really appreciate religion. I think it keeps most of the shitbags in this town in line. There probably should be more secular religion with the people in this field. Most got into the business to be dirty carnys. That's what movie making is...being gypsies between gigs. You never form relationships of any significance and there's always one foot out the door. Then you do this for 30 to 40 years and then you die, most likely divorced with medical and psychological problems. That's if you're lucky. Yeah, nice Christmas story, right? No the issue is that Hollywood does need more Christ in their lives. First off, really great stories. The bible is full of lessons these dregs of Hollywood could learn from. These are also great drama pieces. Good and bad. And so forth. I think a lot of people delve into the bad and never come back. Hollywood shuns Christmas because it's the like the parent that molested them. Just a massive ball of disappointment year in and year out. The build up to be drained emotionally. Everything is escalated during Christmas. One of the reasons writer Shane Black specifically puts his stories during this time. People are amplified in emotions. You forgive, you love, you hate and you are forgiven. For the most part, I have a disdain for collective Hollywood morale. Sure they love the upbeat nature of the feeling of Christmas but they don't have the foundation of memories to support it. Most people out here are broken lost toys. And the story of "Rudolph The Red-Nose Reindeer" (Rankin/Bass one) plays into their psyche. You can really tell a person by the Christmas movie they traditionally watch. Anyone who watches "Christmas Vacation" are typically wholesome people who have dark interiors. The classics like "It's A Wonderful Life" are conservative. And "Elf" are retards. Just kidding "Elf" watchers. I just think that movie was overblown and dated. Jokes aren't as funny as you remember them (they aren't jokes). Most people who watch "Elf" tend to shun Christmas. Most likely don't like Christmas music. And want to burn the institution of it down. They think they're edgy. They're actually conformist trying to create a cult. Their emotional maturity is obviously one of throwing a tantrum if they don't get their way. You grow out of it. Some don't. To me Christmas is a spirit. That you can bring some happiness into someone's life for a day. Make them laugh. Smile. What's wrong with that. The bigger message is that not to make Christmas into a world ending thing. The girlfriend who didn't return your phone calls (which happened to me a week before Xmas, I still love Xmas). The relatives who think you're a failure, the constant bombardment of judgement. At a certain age, it won't matter any more. It really won't. So Merry Christmas to you and everyone you spend time with today!

You'll Be Fine

I remember my first film I made out here in Hollywood. It was a film school assignment where we had to tell a story with no dialogue. Only images. I remember we shot on an Arri-S camera and it was the first time I was using upgraded gear from what I was use to being a transplant from Ohio. The Arri-S is a great starter camera from those who just want to shoot 16mm. To me, each roll was precious. Each image had to be perfect. I was so broke at the time, we decided to shoot in my apartment. So I wrote to suit that need. BUT I also wanted to be abnormal, so I decided to shoot on reveral film stock. Because I was a massive fan of a movie called "Clockers" I studied that film until my eyes and brain bled. However, I am no Malik Hassan Sayeed. He should be more well known, by the way. Any way, stop me if you've heard this story before, I also had to cast the movie. We did so through an publication called "Backstage West" My film school friend (to this day) had put out an add for his film and got a ton of actors submitting. He ended up casting a guy for his student film. And, for some odd lazy reason, I ended up just offering this guy the role in my short film. The night before I was so nervous with things running through my head. The images of the film I wanted to make. The bits and pieces I needed to cover. Being a nervous, anxiety riddled person at this age, I couldn't sleep. The morning came of the shoot. My roommate Ed, was a nice dude who just wanted to help (still is). We came out from Ohio together and we both cut our teeth on the old ways of doing things. The actor showed up... ...with his dog. My brain near exploded. I felt like a gut punch, thinking what in the hell are we going to put a dog in a small area. It was of no surprise when "actor" would check in on his dog as he was gracing us with his presence during the shoot (I'd give you guys the name of this shithead if I could remember it). The actress in my short was my friend Cat. She wasn't really an actress but always game to do something. She'd come out to desert with us a few years later to make another film. I digress...the shoot was grueling. The actor was obviously distracted by his dog. Was distracted in general. I'm not entirely sure why he was giving me such a hard time, other than he was having a bad life. Miserable people just make others miserable. The first day of shoot was done, and I was exhausted. Sick to my stomach that I did not want to spend another second with this "actor." I actually thought to myself if I ever see this fuckface again, I'd punch him in the face. I went to bed and never wanted to go to set (the set was our apartment, in case you forgot). I wanted to pull the plug and let it die. And wish the actor would also cancel himself. My roommate had to drag me to finish it. God Bless you Ed. Because Ed hated this tool as well. In fact, in a scene in movie he got to pretend to strangle him. Ed took great pleasure in Method acting it. Of course "Actor" whined. It was awesome. My point being, ever film shoot is one big disappointment. On every stage of the actual making. It's not a bad thing to say this. It's just to brace yourself for having your neurosis rise to the top. Try not to. I was on a shoot yesterday that I can tell the director was overwhelmed. Had to talk him from the ledge. The thing is...this type of activity isn't for everyone. It involves a great deal of focus and piecing things in your head while a clock ticks. The ones who don't survive are the ones that want it to be easy. Or are lazy. Or let the system overwhelm you. On every level, you are moving a big slow machine. Pushing a car uphill. It slips...occasionally. If you intend to be a filmmaker, you allow these things to function within your project but not overtake it. There are so many factors that go into why a project is good or not. NONE of it is to risk your health or life. The pressure people put on themselves to break out is heartbreaking sometimes. I'm not saying my goals should never be your own. But, boy do I love the freedom. If offers no financial viability. But then again, does pursuing the path you go offer the same? You may as well have a little fun. Now, I'm not saying be so reckless and dumb with your project. I'm saying, allow the important things of finishing the project overtake your need for control. Many people sabotage themselves before they even begin. Because they surround themselves with shitty people. You'll be fine. Here's the flick: https://vimeo.com/manage/videos/231870367

The Reboot

I once made an episodic. And never promoted it. Strangely enough, people have reached out, curious as to what happened to it and where it would go. I have no aspirations to "make it" in Hollywood. And it's not because I'm bitter. I could care less. Fame and fortune has never been on my radar. I just liked making shit, when I felt like it. Never wanted to make anything that caters to anyone. If the content spoke to anyone, so be it. I've never been going with the tides either. I hate the tides, to be honest. It's a battle that is exhaustive. But, there is freedom. I consider myself incredibly lucky and successful. And if I impart any wisdom to anyone who is trying to survive, it's that you are doing the correct thing by making things on your own terms. Don't follow the crowd, regardless of what people tell you. And that is the difficult part. A lot of you will be pulled in so many directions. Because everyone has an opinion. Some of them valid. Most of them really wrong. No one really gave me advice about this business that ever made it. The longer you're here the more you realize there is no real advice. But I will say this...a young man had asked me what he should do. He is from a small town in the middle of nowhere and I opened a door for him to do work here in Los Angeles. I simply said "stay consistent." The most boring dumbest part of earning your freedom is to stay doing what you want to do. If you hop around too much, you will never get a foothold. I am probably not the best person to use as an example, since I'm pulled in different places. And my attention wanes. But I've stayed consistent. In terms of sticking it out. It's a marathon not a sprint. Many people will cash out early. Because they're not focused. By focus, it doesn't mean sidetracking everything about your life so you can work in Hollywood. Quite different. Don't hurt yourself through the suffering you subject yourself to "work." For me, it took a while. If I look back at all the choices I made, it makes me cringe. Some dumb things. Some lonely places. So abandoning a project or idea was easy. But I plan on rebooting a series that I'd been making. A way to revitalize a concept I'd been wanting to execute. Regardless of who is involve or what may derail it. Nothing should ever derail a strong idea.

Kyle Rittenhouse Acquittal

Kyle Rittenhouse was a (then) 17 year old kid who went to Kenosha, Wisconsin to assist in the help with the situation of rioters/protesters in the wake of the shooting of Jacob Blake. I'll say it up front. According to the video I saw, he should have never been put on trial. We are allowed to defend ourselves. The reason he was put on trial is because press pushed it that he was a White supremacist out to kill "protesters." Protesters don't loot and burn shit down. So anyone who believes that is nuts. Also, all the men he shot have a criminal record. The one that is getting the most attention Joseph Rosenbaum, was a 11 time convicted child molester. Has media hammered that point? Nope. The point is...if you get your information from CNN or CNBC or any other Lefty news outlet, you're a fucking moron. Their agenda is to keep pulling us apart. If I said the sky was blue, they call it red. And if you lap it up, you are an idiot. Most Lefties are emotionally dumb and can't accept facts anymore. I said "most" not all. What is surprisng is that more people I know are so outraged by this case. Silence when that Black teenager shot up his school then posted bail. This is a war on White folk. And media is fanning it. Little do they know that typically citizens will put their head in the noose prior to the total collapse. The people who work for media, NOT Black folk. In case you're offended by the noose reference. It was pretty obvious that Rittenhouse should've been acquitted. BUT, I also am curious as to why some think he should've been convicted. None of their reasons so far makes sense ("he shouldn't have crossed state line with rifle" (legal)) Also, for you women out there...good luck with someone raping you (if you believe self-defense wasn't a thing). According to Lefty logic, if you don't let the person rape you and you considered shooting the rapist to protect yourself...you can't. Especially if they're Black. This country has some fucked up thinking people. Mostly White Lefties. Malcolm X was right.

The Elitist And Why They Hate Us

The social elite has always been a thing. And once they got their claws on printed media, it was the end for any common man. In the old days, newspapers hired the working class. While they were educated, they still held the common man as who they were attempting to speak to. Most had a crusader complex. They wanted to reveal ugly corporate corruption. Political scandals. But corporations got wise. They started to lean into hiring Ivy League educated writers. These were the people who hated society the most. Because, they were beneath them. Everyone was beneath them. And so they took the corporation money and started to infect more of the press with their pals. And so the indoctrination began. Freedom, is saying what is right and printing what is right without agenda. And we have slowly devolved into our behavior today. Headlines by nationally accredited newspapers that uses opinion phrases to twists American minds. They know what they do. This is just from USA Today: USA TODAY Sports "Here's what needs to happen for Aaron Rodgers to play Sunday when Packers face Seahawks" What? Like show up with pads and a helmet. USA TODAY is not a medical center NOR is it run by virologist or whatever. They are a newspaper that should just write "Aaron Rodgers to play Sunday against Seahawks" See how easy that was? But mainstream news can't let that happen. And so it rakes in people who want to do good for their families. Fear. Everyone today lives in fear. It is really a currency now. They want us all to bicker amongst ourselves here underneath the high rises they live in so we wouldn't burn them down. Think about how smart they got. They have no allegiance to justice or fairness, they just want to keep us fighting so we don't focus on them fleecing us. If we ever got wise, we'd take it to the elitist. I would kick Gavin Newsome's teeth in personally and force him to eat an apple. That scumbag governor is the quintessential definition of an idiot dictator. Going to parties as he forces people to do what he cannot do himself. Phony slick garbage of a human being. Oh please, Feds, send him this to read. In fact, you corrupt garbage justice department... monitor this fucking blog. Because you guys suck a massive dong. You sold out to the elite. You are now part of the Lefty goons who don't want all their secrets revealed. How sad. Not enough of you spooks will quit. Because, you're just as slimy as the people you run intimidation tactics for. Yes folks, these fucking assholes illegally searched Project Veritas founder's apartment because he was about to win a defamation lawsuit against the New York Times. And my guess is that the massive media conglomerate isn't just that the NYT unleashed the fucking Feds to do their bidding. They are owned by by bigger corporations to conceal it because they would fall like dominos. It's funny when elitist told us to our faces "it's not about your freedoms. Forget your freedom" how the Left gobbled it up. And everyone else looked at the person who said it with absolute horror. In the true American society 350 million people would've gotten together and dragged him out of the White House and beat him to death. Freedom is all we have in America. It still baffles me how that hadn't happened. We really are living in this time.

Halyna Hutchins

I met Halyna a few years back when she shot a film I helped her transfer. She bombarded me with questions and got nervous when it came to how the image would come out. She was courageous. She shot a lot of beautiful images. And it seemed like a personal project to her. At the time I was thinking about making a horror film set at a mental institution and it was the location she was using. Folks, I've not heard anyone talk this much exuberance about...cinema. As she had gone to American Film Institute, my first impression was "aw, fuck them!" Mostly because they do have an elitist quality to them. Their sole focus is on cinema. But that doesn't mean you had to know cinema. Most AFI students or graduates are douchey. They are "artists." But somehow she transcended that and changed my outlook on that school. She isn't what you would call a "girly girl" either. She had a TON of energy and there wasn't anything that couldn't be done. And, having spoken to a few others who had met her, she was also very generous with her time. She was going to make it big. I know I shit on people going for the brass ring in this business but Halyna...you could tell. She didn't seem to rest. AND she answered texts at all hours. I still look at my phone with her number and wonder what became of her. I was disgusted to hear the tragedy that transpired. It rocked the film industry in the midst of a strike. I can't go into the details of what happened because I wasn't there and I only get what people want me to know. Which is nothing. Here's what bothers me... I had gone through near death myself. Having known this now, I can't fathom the idea that she is no longer alive. The taste of pizza or the scent of pine cones or whatever she grew up with has been extinguished. Think about that, all those years you used to push forward your life...ends immediately. This is what angers me the most. Halyna was around my age, so it was nice to speak to a contemporary (most film people are really young, as most old people can't stand the hours involved). I know, in small parts, the experiences she must've gone through. The party days, the discovery of music and movies. I have no words for Alec Baldwin, who was the man holding the gun when she was killed. He will have to live with that. I can sympathize with the darkness he is about to endure but I do not pity him. Some will believe he is completely negligent of these actions. Others may reach out in support. The Hollywood circle are disgusting syncophants. A short project I once ran electric for gave me two guys of which I could order around. I was the best boy electric. One of the guys ran around crazy like. Was no-nonsense and efficiently and swiftly worked. He was VERY good at what he did. Was always within earshot of my requests. He was an absolute professional. This guy was Erik Messerschmidt, who won the cinematography Oscar last year. It didn't even surprise me and I was happy for him. It wouldn't surprise me if Halyna would've excelled this far in her own career had she been given a chance.

Filthy Dirty Facebook

You really shouldn't be going to Facebook for any real news. It seems it's a place to just air grievances. The one thing though is asking questions and researching and getting some information that isn't controlled by the press. In case you're wondering about the inflation that is occurring in America. Or how that fucking site is killing all conservative voices. Or even just voices with common sense. Because Facebook works with the new regime. The Democrats. And they don't want your voice heard. In other words, they stole the 2020 election and now want to silence criticism. Cubans know what that is. Fidel Castro did that. And who are these idiots who cheer them on? No, really I want to know. Because you have to be next level stupid to support anything Joe Biden does. Or his administration because he is clearly brain dead. Why do people want to take down capitalism? Probably because they think it's cool to be on that side. Fake tittied dumb whores who bounce up and down think capitalism is evil, um...while taking a massive check. They have no idea their cheapening of themselves for views and likes is due to capitalism. I'm now imaginging a new world where these types of girls are only used for visual entertainment. As if in their prep courses it says "for visual pleasure only" Way to take feminism to the next level. Dumb people think this is evolvement. Because it's trendy, and they want to be liked. But they don;t want to be liked for their brains, only their beauty. And that will fade and be crushing to someone whose whole value is that. This goes for guys as well. Facebook has now implement MORE censoring to protect celebrities and politicians. I started laughing because these are synonmous with one another. I didn't realize their feelings were truly that frail. Nah...I did. They guise it under the fact that they want to stop disinformation. Uh-huh. Whose? The ones you simply don't agree with. See, the smartest thing the Left ever did was dominate tech first. Nerds and programmers. Physical engineers are actually much more libertarian. They build traps in their backyards and such. But where does this speech end? Sure, it's fine when you agree with them. you love they suppress Right wing dialogue. But, consider this...corporations went after Dems and Lefties first...because they think you are mentally weaker. That should be insulting and you should want to burn it all down. Much like they've burned and looted everything else. Facebook went down about a week ago, and people made memes about how nice and quiet it was. Funny it was posted on their site. Made more funny that we learned nothing in the six hours they were down. Hate to keep beating a dead horse here, but you are the product. And if they are on your side, they think you're an idiot. Let's go Brandon.

IATSE Strike

i understand and I'm with you. When streaming sites started making their own content, they left out a ton of factors. Residuals for anyone below the line. But America made streams like Netflix a gazillion dollar gorilla and now the workers are fighting back. i will always back workers. However, in this case...people who work in entertainment are colossal Lefty dicks. They thumb their noses at middle America and think anyone who is conservative are rubes. If these elitist were smart they would've aligned themselves with Americans and could have reached out to subscribers to drop their memberships thus causing a real change. But America hates your Boomer/millenial ass. Because you thumbed your nose at them. So you fucked up. And they still havent learned their lesson. The stories from the trenches is that they are trying to gatherpeople to dump their streaming. Good luck with that. You fuck with America, they fuck with you.

Norm MacDonald

No one had a clue Norm was ill. And when he died, it actually took me by surprise. I did suspect something was odd when he was doing his half-ass podcast that he seemed to be much more spiritual than I was expecting. Talking about God a lot. And really (quietly) mocking those who didn't believe in a higher being. Perhaps he knew his time was limited. But he never told anyone about his illness. Guy like Norm doesn't want your pity. I followed Norm throughout his career, because he was brutally honest about...common sense. He considered much of what he saw of our society as comedically silly. Particularly the people of the "cancel culture" I think because he found it odd that talking shit and laughing about it somehow became taboo. Perhaps he knew he was not to be on this planet long. He also meant a lot to me because in one of the darkest moments of my life, his sardonic silly sense of humor made me feel better about...everything. He understood the ridiculousness of life. And mocked its absurdity. With a glint in his eye, he often didn't know his true power and gift. Things he said just made you laugh your nuts off...for instance... on Liberace "you kick that dude in the ass, a hundred dicks fall out" Shit, that makes me laugh. Yes, it's a VERY outdated reference but for "old coals" like me, we get what humor use to be like. Working class humor, really. These days comedians seem to take themselves way too seriously. Norm didn't seem to want girls, money or fame. He just wanted to make observations about daily life that when seen in its most obvious terms, makes us laugh. Much like "The Three Stooges" I doubt many women found him funny. He never found women funny, so it worked out. There is the ability to make dudes laugh that transcends the mamby jahamby nature of where we are in 2021. To me, his humor made it alright to be a dude. I LOVED that the phony entertainment business had no control over him. I'm sure most comedians looked up to him because he said whatever the fuck he wanted with no reprisal. As I've said in the past, Norm seemed like an old prospector who came out of them mines saw society and made his observation. I honestly feel like I lost a good friend. I think Norm and I would get along. He was a true original.

Kidz Film Festival

I went to a screening of a 17 year old's film that he made with his family. I mean, it was a family affair. Father is an analog film shooter and Mom is a professional violinist. The movie itself is incredible, since he made it on Super 8. The impressive part is the way he sounded. Assured, confident without much nervousness. It floored me since at that age, I despised being in front of an audience. I certainly didn't meet strangers like myself to speak so eloquently. Perhaps that is the European sensibility. It made me think that maybe the United States does chip away at one's self-esteem. If you think about our movie industry...we are the ONLY country whose government doesn't support cinema. Consider that a LOT of films made overseas that have depth were funded by their own government. Sure, there must be corruption when it comes to who or who cannot be funded to make a movie. But at least it's there. They assume cinema as an art form versus Americans who see it as pure commerce. So this adds to the constant competitive approach to filmmaking. People then spend their lives shitting on others efforts. For instance, there was a cinematographer at the screening who was also there to support the young man. He is a professional working cameraman (never seen a thing he's done, none of his credits are remotely recognizable) who attended the American Film Institute (overpriced, pretentious scaly people go here). I can tell right away, he wants to sell himself. To me, of all people. Everyone else is insignificant to him. And he always has a comment to put himself higher on the heirarchy of production (there is one, you=direct - me=camera). What I'm getting at is...who fucking cares? This douchebag couldn't help himself from telling the child of the flaws he saw in the movie. Idiot didn't realize it was all part of the aesthetic. He just couldn't help himself. He had that nervous shifty eyes of a person who is deeply insecure about his craft. Joined guilds and unions because that's what networking does. Otherwise, he knows tech, has very little to non-exitent ability to communicate. Kinda guy who loves to take over a conversation. Regardless of what you have to say, he has to remind you how much more important he is. This is AFI people I can't stand. Guess what...didn't ask me a single question about what I did. And when found out what I did, would batter me with his knowledge of the gear...being mostly wrong. This is someone who wants you to like them and doing it all wrong. I digress. What I was surprised at, was the level of maturity the films had. I saw TWO silly ones in front of six very deeply serious ones. Simple tropes that I'm glad young people are thinking about (racism, suicide). But I don't recall at 17-18 year old caring about that shit. I was making stupid gangster movies. Or re-enacting George Romero. Or dumb silly things. Not only were these "kids" making serious material, they SPOKE with such bravado about themselves and their project. NOT arrogantly, but very focused and intelligently. It wasn't the films they made, but the way they conducted themselves. At that age I was fighting off a shitty girlfriend and drinking myself into a stupor. So I got a glimpse of what serious people do...from young people. Again, the films had a amateurish quality. But some of them were better than what adults were doing. I was impressed and excited to see their future.

Business As Usual

Anyone who voted for Joe Biden is a moron Anyone who thinks he got over 80 million votes is braindead. Here's what Joe did in 8 months: Middle class taxes went up Inflation Unsubstantiated Covid vaccine success rate. Most likely the cause of variant abandoned Afghanistan leaving 85 BILLION dollars worth of weaponry to the Taliban Made deals with Taliban, then was attacked at their airport. Biden is responsible for 13 American solider deaths. And he will be held responsible for the future deaths due to terrorism in the United States. Was told and commanded by terrorist to leave a country so they can go back to subjugating women and murdering at will. By all accounts, YOU WILL NOT CHANGE ISIS or Taliban. Morons. They are cavemen who have no idea what century it is NOR do they care. Joe just handed them sophisticated weapons to fight Americans again. Jesus is he fucking stupid. He should be dragged to the Lincoln Memorial and hung for treason. So, now here is social media covering for this fucking idiot. I have a co-worker like this. He is a mealy mouth guy who has been shuffled from one job to another. He is frustrating to deal with because he does not "get" why certain things are done. He simply believes his way works best. AND he ALWAYS fucks it up. This is Joe Biden. I want to strangle this co-worker to death because he bounces around like nothing ever effects him. You wish you could hurt Joe in a way where it actually makes sense to him. But he is so stupid he wouldn't get it. If you started sawing off his limbs to torture him, he'd probably be wondering why. That's how dumb Joe is. He will go down in history as the stupidest United States President ever. Big tech loves him because he can be pushed around. And he wasn't like Trump who was wondering how Big Tech was getting away with everything. Trump is one of the best Presidents ever. Yep, I said it. I did the research. Did you? Oh right, sorry he hurt your feelings. Trump boosted record employment. Gave middle class tax breaks Gas was cheap. Because pipelines were open due to environmental restrictions being lifted. Never got into another war Peace deal in Middle East Oh but sorry he hurt your feelings. You didn't even know most of these things because the press and these local thugs Black Lives Matter and Anti-Fa were the rage. And you just associated it with him. Shit, there are a LOT of easily manipulated people in America. Joe is a career politician. Even as he is going into dementia he repeats all the platitudes that kept him a Senator. He has as much empathy as a worm has for dirt. Which is why he was installed as President. He lost by a lot. So fuck you Facebook and Twitter. Yeah, this was the real coup. Social media stole the election and destroyed any credibility in America being a democracy. I hope Zuckerberg's child gets run over by a car and then he will have to face real emotions. And Jack Dorsey suffers some tragedy as well. They earned it. Twin garbage trash human beings. But hey...we're business as usual. Just watch out for when everything you say or do is monitored and shutdown. Your freedoms are being taken away. And for you idiot Lefties, stop smiling as its happening. Your idiot candidate stole an election. Try asking questions. Oh, wait, you prefer having your head in the dirt. That I won't help you with.

Hollywood Bully

I've never been bullied on a film set. I had too much dignity to allow that. Also, have always stood my ground. I remember back in Ohio, during the Rodney King riots that drifted to Cincinnati (for soome reason) a group of Black teens were walking in a supermarket parking lot (I was a teen during this time too). They told me to go back to China. I told them to go back to Africa. Weird that I wasn't even scared. I guess when you're young you don't know consequences or ramifications. When you first start out on a film set you are super green. The people who spent a lot of time on set know this and use it to sometimes take advantage of the situation. People on film seta are A) bored B) need something to do For the Hollywood bully, they mostly take place in the office. The movie "Swimming With Sharks" illustrates it well. I am surprised more producers aren't murdered. Or tied to a chair and beaten. You have to understand, thug bully producers like Harvey Weinstein rely on desperate people. If you are desperate for the business, they want you to prove how desperate. You know sick that is? To be fair, I've done my own share of bullying. Because when I was younger and drunker, I felt the obstacle it took to get me where I was someone else will have to go through it. And when someone else is in your satellite and they seem to have an idealistic viewpoint of the industry, you want to cut them down to size. Most young people do. They think they will be the first to conquer it. Hollywood isn't a place you conquer. It is a place were the sytem bullies you into considering it a job. And the faster you learn it, the easier it gets. Actors and Directors share a similar confusion when they start out. "Why doesn't anyone see my talent?" Or they try to fake confidence. People here who've worked for a very long time can smell that. The trick isn't to pretend like you know everything. The trick is to watch.

"Candyman" (2021)

Jesus Christ what, a dull movie. This has nothing to do with the actors. I HAVE to preface it with how great they did. Because the lines are HORRIFIC. And I can see they did their best to make it work. The script is horrid. It has to do with Cabrini-Green, the Chicago projects and blaming Whitey for their suffering. As always. They should've put Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot, because that bug-eyed Beetlejuice does show up when you say her name three times in a mirror. Also, she is the source of Black suffering. Black Lives Matter is a scam. I've said it before, say it again. The entire movie is predicated on 2019-2021 chants of "Say Their Name" God, Black community are so earnest. "Say Their Name!" Or what? They come burn down your business (which is what happened). They loot your store (which is what happened). Or in this case, they murder you White folk who don't believe. Yawn. The original "Candyman" was fairly dull as well. People seem to think it was successful. As a teen watching it back then even I understood how corny the premise was. Meant to be scary. This started as an urban myth. Say his name five times in the mirror and he'll getcha! Turned into some interracial cause because some rich guy's daughter wanted some big black Tony Todd D. Man, speaking of which, this movie seriously missed out on having more Tony Todd. They had to explain it away that Candyman is generational. That everytime there is an injustice in whatever era, he shows up...in the hood. Are you laughing yet? Even the mythical monster of Candyman is confused as to who to blame his anger on. And, quite frankly, its always misplaced and confusing. The director must really hate Whitey. She spent an entire throwaway scene murdering White teenage girls for absolutely no reason. It didn't further plot points or that character who summons Candyman doesn't even talk to the main characters. It was so bizarre that I can only assume it's the director re-living some trauma she suffered at the hands of mean girls. White mean girls. ugh.

Biden is Super Retarded

Hope this guy dies in a fire. Probably still wouldn't understand what's happening to him. If baffles the mind, this dumb asshole who up and pulled 2500 U.S. Troops from Afghanistan BEFORE the allies and U.S. citizens and chaos ensued resulting in ISIS suicide bombing the airport so that no one feels safe leaving. Seriously people. This is what was fraudently put into the White House. Probably for a reason. They needed an idiot in the White House. Some of you morons probably say Trump is an idiot. Nope. He is a thug and a jerk. No idiot. Celebrities here STILL support Biden. It's like they can't let go of their career politician. Personally, ALL career politicians should be euthanized after age 66. It makes sense, and filters out the ones who REALLY want to work in government. Go in live the hogs life for decades and then put you down to sleep. Though, dumbasses like Biden would probably self-destruct America before he goes so he can drag others down with him. This is really ugly folks. People have died because of nitwit Joe. He is a liability to the safety of America and just waiting for him to be thrown under the bus so dumb laughing moron Kamala Harris can take over. This was all in the works by social media homos Zuckerberg and Dorsey. They controlled all the conversation so that you had to comply or get banned or tagged. Because their woke ass "fact checkers" got their feelings hurt. Again, happening now. The news of Americans dying have not hit the ears of the Left. The twist of news is placed all on either the terrorist or something that takes it off this colossal failure of a president. So fuck you Zuckerberg and Dorsey. I hope someone drowns you two like cats. You created this destruction. Biden's team just pulled the lever.

Biden Is Retarded

I got banned from Facebook because I told people to "punch this idiot in the face" Mean Joe Biden. I never call him the President of The United States. Because he isn't. Regardless of what the cabal tells you. Haha. I still laugh when I think of his stupid face being punched in. They aren't wrong to ban me for saying so. I just think it's funny they let terrorist say what they want. Black Lives Matter Org is a terrorist group, you morons. They're still on social media. Anyway, this all stemmed from Joey Biden fucking up Afghanistan withdrawal. Everyone knew America had to get out. The way Joe did it was exactly how we thought he would. Shitty-like. It was stop drop and roll. Dude doesn't care anymore. He has a crackhead for a son. Does it matter? Biden was born a loser and will die a loser and the fraudulent election that put him in the White House will be revealed and he will be the patsy he always was. He's like weasely, kid sniffer. People don't like Biden and have no idea what his policy was. They just hated Trump. Incidentally, this new Afghanistan debacle. Here's an idea...instead of terrorizing Americans, I suggest the terrorist go terrorize Biden's family. Make him truly suffer the way he has made us suffer. Oh, but here's the thing...these guys know if they ever held Biden for any level of ransom...we'd shrug and be like "So? Be-head the motherfucker." In other words...he is useless. I think Chris Rock had a bit about that. In a bank robbery, no one ever holds the Black guy hostage. Yeah, that's Biden. No one would care if he just disappeared. Including his opportunist wife: Jill "I'm a real doctor" Probably ESPECIALLY her. She can finally collect on this investment.

Something You May Never Consider

In making a movie, the one thing most people don't account for a lot is contingency.

Everyone comes at it with a very positive angle. Which is great! However, the older you get, the more experience you have, the more being blind-sided you endure.

After a while you learn to live with this debilitating fear that everything collapses

Because as I've mentioned to some people, filmmaking is organized chaos.

So the more things you bring into play, the more contingencies you should expect. Anyone gets sick, injured, or late...that costs money. IF you've ever wondered why some productions have fucked over employees, here's the reason. Let's say you lost a few days because the actor is ill. Actor still gets paid. But now you've pushed your days into a few more days which means crew needs to be paid extra. YOU DIDN'T BUDGET FOR THAT.

Now let's say you have a dickhead actor who remains in his trailer because he doesn't "feel it" (Dustin fucking Hoffman comes to mind). Each day drives production costs up. And then people wonder how productions get inflated. It's because of things like this.

I understand illness and I understand accidents. The entire endeavor to make a movie should make anyone nervous. Stupid people aren't. Or actors don't seem to get it. They show up, do their job and leave. They don't see the work that's really involved. And if you get on a production that doesn't consider these things, I suggest you run.

I think it's probably sometimes best the talent doesn't see how these things run. To be honest, it's not their problem. It does when say...they are late or don't show up when they said they would. That's disgusting. Being late is a sin to me. The reason why Tom Cruise is who he is, is because he does not ever stop swimming like a shark. He wants you to care more about the project than he does. Even if you are "just a grip."

All filmmaking is, is a very large gamble. You put up a lot of money to make something in hopes someone will buy it (pay ticket to watch) thus making you famous. Or whatever. We all want to be the storyteller at the campfire and get all the hot chicks. So is the gamble worth it? I don't think so.

I use filmmaking to banish demons. And to manipulate the world and see if it translates to film. None of this has anything to do with any return on the investment. The only return is that it had a tiny impact on someone's life. The experience of watching or being in it. Which ever.

I'm truly happy doing it this way. But, it's still aggravating. Fighting the stream.

Acknowledge A Valid Point

Even if you don't agree with someone...the very least you can do it acknowledge the person has a valid point.

EVERYONE has a point and you should be curious where that comes from. Instead, people ignore and steamroll. Stupid people do this. I constantly am aware when people do this. And it's aggravating.

It's for a few reasons. Insecure or stupid. Or both.

Here's the thing...

"Hey, I wonder what those clouds mean?"

"I guess it looks like there's going to be rain?"

"Why do you think so?"

"I've seen clouds like that before."

The "Why do yo think so" part is ALWAYS overlooked. Because everyone wants to steamroll and no one wants to wonder how someone thinks a certain way or where it must come from. I probably know what those clouds mean, but I want you to tell me what your train of thought is.

A stupid person who will remain stupid has no listening capabilities. And you can tell. They're just waiting to talk. Or they don't care. Man, I fucking hate stupid people.

Set yourself apart in this world and listen and ask questions. Seriously. You will go VERY far this way.

Do You Care About The Olympics Anymore?

I'm not sure I ever did. With the exception of when we use to be able to win food stuff from McDonald's. Remember getting free hamburgers and soft serve ice cream when a U.S. team won. I was holding out for the fries.

Kinda funny when you consider that as we were eating McD's, athletes where trying NOT to eat McD's.

But I dunno, Olympics always seemed sort of...dull. As there are so many more entertaining distractions, it seems this televised thing use to hold a TON of glitz and glamor now don't seem as coveted. And I think the t.v. people know. NBC took a massive hit. A dip and draw not seen since 30 years earlier.

I suspect 30 years earlier suffered similar setbacks because of South Korea? Even then I didn't really care.

It use to be an event.

I think the fractured distancing of our society is causing a great deal of this. No one is proud of their country anymore. Certainly, in America, some athletes found ways to tell the world that they think we suck. Even though they showed up in state of the art equipment. Whilst Eastern European athletes had to train using ox and pull chains (Remember "Rocky IV")

Also American patriots seem to root AGAINST the U.S. team now. Not the U.S. Just the athletes that kneel.

Kneelers are funny. They think they're making a difference. They aren't. They're promoting their brand. They know it. We know it. Capitalism is great. Everyone knows that. No one wants to admit it.

Any way, the feats of athletes now also seem subpar to what we see on a weekly basis. A kid who can jump rope 1000 times, a person who can survive Chicago. These are much more impressive.

Records are beaten. Teams will lose.

And no one cares.

I Don't Have An Idea

More often than not, when I tell people I'm making a short film, they inevitably share the fact that they want to make a movie. It's contagious. And very cool. Inspiring people to make their own projects is inspiring in itself.

The follow up conversation...

."...but I don't have an idea"

Yes you do. What you're really saying is "I want to make a movie, but I'm afraid it will suck"

It probably will. Especially if you haven't made anything. Then you think other people will shit on your project because...it's more than likely, you've spent your time shitting on other people's movies. People probably think you think your big trap means you can make a better movie. And when it sucks, which it will, you look like an idiot. People will mock you, and so forth.

So fucking what?

Keep shitting on movies and making bad movies. No one gives a shit. Seriously. The fact you are doing it means so much more.

Segue, I will say, a lot of people are lazy when it comes to execution. To be very frank, constructing a movie and going out and executing is a TON of work. I run on adrenaline a lot. For trying to make my day in the chaos. Very little of it is actually what you see directors do.

There's a doc with Stanley Kubrick belittling Shelly Duvall in "The Shining" See, I always thought he was reserved. The energy it takes to have an idea, get everyone involved, THEN coordinate it is...something short of a miracle to get it completed. If you do it on a feature, you are a God amongst men and women.

You do have an idea. Whether you can spend your days focused to execute it is another story. For most of us...the time better be well spent. And you BETTER appreciate what you are doing. In that sense, a lot of people don't really have faith in their abilities. I COMPLETELY understand your concern. But much like sex, the more you do it, the sort-of better you get.

For me, it's a time waster. I have a cool idea of a TYPE of movie I've always wanted to make. And that's it. Don't fear it. Just kill it out there!

I have faith in you.

2020 Election Was A Fraud

 Fine Google, ban my ass.

Because we all know tech folk like them were bullied and need to take it out on society.

Most I.T. guys here hate humanity. You think we're cynics. I'm an amateur compared to them.

Any way one of them was telling me that he ran the statistics and it's impossible for the result we have. Yet, somehow...we are living with this. Joe Biden is an absolute moron. And no one is defending this fact. He is a moron. Everyone agrees. Which is why the original plan was to shoehorn the other puppet Kamala Harris as the president after Old Joe croaks or they enact the 25th Amendment. That day is coming.

So when that happens, you still going to think anything we say is a conspiracy. How about admitting that the Conservatives were actually right in their ideas that it was always in the cards. Instead, well...the frustrating part is that as long as things work out for the Left everything is fine. The minute it doesn't, that's when they come with their theory of foul play.

When Trump won, I ALWAYS wondered what that was about. Nothing...and I mean, not an iota of proof or even speculative idea was ever shown that made any cheating occurred. The simple answer was to point to Hillary Clinton. Evidence there.

I guess you could say the same about pointing to Trump whilst Biden got the most votes in the history of the history of America. Hahaha. I'm still laughing why the majority of people don't find that suspicious. They probably do but won't ask them the questions. Because they don't want to know they answer...because they think they won.

The new society has built a disgusting place where you don't earn what you get anymore. You play victim until you get it. And when you get it, you play a bigger victim to get more. Winning by cheating isn't winning. Anyone with a brain knows that. But the Lefties I know are fine with it. Until they're not.

Best Feeling In the World

Being independent and not beholden to anyone while making your film is...AWESOME!

Obviously it costs some dough and it comes strictly out of pocket.

But to be honest, there is no one that will care about your project more than you.

Also, once people put money into your project...you have to listen to them.

And most people have stupid ideas. Not their fault. You just studied harder.

If it were something someone else wrote, YOU'D have stupid ideas. It's the nature of the beast.

The word "liberating" comes to mind when it comes to making movies that you don't have to answer to people over. But yeah, it comes at a price.

I'm doing a feature next.

I know...I've said it before. But more pieces are in place this time and we understand how things will need to work.

And yes, I'm sinking what amounts to the costs of a house into it. And sure, some of you would want me to fail at it. But honestly...I don't care if it succeeds. Or makes money. Or anything else. Call me stupid. To me, making it is its own rewards.

And having the freedom not to get into constant battles is its own reward.

I think they call it "peace of mind"

Olympics Started?

Supposedly this is happening in Tokyo. Who would know? I stopped watching when they had skateboarding as an event.

Laugh accordingly.

What I did hear:

Women's U.S. Soccer Team lost to Sweden.

The entire team knelt during our National Anthem. But, you know...they lost to Sweden.

How embarrassing is that?

I don't know that lesbo with the colored hair that hates America, but she is the ringleader of these losers. There were three that stood though, so I felt bad for them.

The rest of these ungrateful animals can...you know...go to a country that they have more benefits from.

They won't. Because they know how good they have it here. Which makes them typical garbage entitled humans. God, someone punch them and put them out of their misery (incidentally, I still blame my generation for creating these cunts. We told them they deserved more. By "more" we weren't specific. It means you get what we all get. Which you already got. You want special treatment, not fair treatment. Which you don't deserve.

You lost. And embarrassed America. Proving once again, pretending to have principals and having them are two different things.

They Are Spying On You

 We're all being spied on.

People only care if it happens to them. If it happens to people they don't like...oh well.

When I was younger it didn't seem to matter. The thought was "Who cares? I have nothing to hide and nothing to take"

As you get older, oftentimes, it's the people you care about that get sucked into this obvious crime.

The new administrations wants this to be the thing.

Remember Cuba. Fidel Castro overthrew the government there and when he took it over he turned it into a dictatorship by shutting the door to anyone who opposed his viewpoints. Sound familiar? That's Biden. Don't even call him the president. Have zero respect for him (obvious). He's a phony and a fraud and the election was stolen (obvious). The integrity of the election was compromised. Guess what that fraud side said? NO ONE can oppose the results.

Look, I never gave a shit when Trump was called an illegitimate president. He really was. Why? Because he wasn't a fucking career politician. But there was nothing shady about that election. Because it was Hillary Clinton. And I don't recall so many questions and statistics and actual engineers who crunched the numbers and realized the probability of a Biden win was less than nothing. Especially since he dragged in Kamala Harris. Whom I'm still convinced will find a way to get him out and her in. She's a total gross snake. California even saw it.

This admin is being run by a machine. Hilary has been laying low because the minute she sticks her head out, the ruse is obviously over. Obama, Hilary are the ones running the show. They have a bobble head puppet like Biden to pretend he's the president. Re-doing everything Trump squashed. Call it what you want. There was probably a moment where Biden saw something Trump did and thought "hey, that was a pretty good idea" to be met with the Lefty mafia to silence him. Probably with more tranquilizers. Dude isn't just "sleepy" he's downright braindead.

Obvious to most.

And this was also a way to circumvent Obama or Hil being the bad guys when it came to spying on Americans. Mostly to find out who hates their guts. These are totalitarians nuts who constantly think they know better and are better. Remember Hilary thinks we're all scum except her. She hates humanity and harbors DEEP resentment towards America for choosing Trump over her.

These are facts.

And now they want to make it legal.

To the Democrats, they ignore the Constitution. Come and get them, they dare us. Guess what? If they don't, they keep doing it. Duh.

This is disgusting theater that will wrap us all up in it eventually. A slow turn of the stove top until we boil. The Democrats have become the Republicans of the 70's. Disgusting pig animals who want power to drag Americans by the scruff. The Dems feel they are so superior to any normal human. And they drag others into this with enticements.

Either go with their flow or drown.

You decide.

There Are No Short Cuts To The Film Business

First off, there is no business left.

Sorry to tell most of you that. It's the truth.

Secondly, there are no shortcuts to break in. For a few of you when you try you end up doing twice as much work. For the rest of you sociopaths, you couldn't care if you roll over people to get what you want.

Either way, just fucking work.

"Work" is such a concept to a lot of people who want to break into the business. "Working" to film people is typically schmoozing and then flaking out on people. Flakes are the worst. Too many people make false promises that aren't kept.
Want to make it? Work and keep your word.

It's really that simple.

Except here's the thing, a lot of people in this business would say that what I wrote here is corny.

Yep, it most certainly is. But more importantly, these people are thinking/saying this is dire straights.

Sad people who think they can make a shortcut.

As if a million people haven't tried what they tried.

I hung out with someone yesterday who wants to circumvent "the industry" by creating his own company to get money so he can make movies so he can sell.

Not a bad idea.

A lot of people have tried this. Not sure the percentage results of success rate. We only hear from the ones who succeeded.

I suggested if he goes this route, be an acquisitions house first. In others words, show people you have taste. That's how Blumhouse, Miramax and A24 started. Then they started making their own content.

Sure that will fall on deaf ears.

There are no shortcuts.

Indentured Servitude is Wrong...Unless The Government Does It

You ever hear that "program" where if you want to wipe your student loan debt, you can work for the government?

Guess what?

That's illegal. In fact, you can't even volunteer for something like that. Because essentially, you are a slave. Most production people go into this type of work all the time...with the fancy name of "intern"

It's wrong. As they have to pay you something.

Indentured servitude is wrong because it is a breath away from slavery. What is the difference? Just the kindness of which you treat your servant.

It sometimes is a shame though. Because the government is the only one who can enslave you. With taxes and whatnot.

Isn't that funny?

People Are Willfully Ignorant

 ...Especially Lefties.

Okay, here's how it works...

when someone posits and idea...don't get condescending and repeat it back to them like it's the craziest idea they've heard. Instead...because some of you idiots can't process...you know...conversation...it goes like this...

"I think clouds are made of cotton candy"

Dumb response "YOU think clouds are made of cotton candy?! How can you think that?"

Correct response "Explain why"

There are WAY too many dumb people...wait NOT dumb, stupidly determined to not learn anything new. The older you get, the less it happens.

And you will start to encounter more and more people like this. Especially older people.

I swear to God I will kill myself before that happens.

I...will...ALWAYS be curious. About the thought processes of people. Because I really want to know how they draw a conclusion.

DUMB people do not. They dismiss anything that doesn't fall into their wheelhouse. Here's an idea. LISTEN first then dismiss it.

Closed minds are the worst people on Earth and slowly America's society is getting there.

I have listen to AOC or Alexandria Ocasia Cortez. I don't like her ideas and think, for the most part, they're misguided. BUT, I do see where she is coming from. A slow dissection of her thought process tells you the way she thinks. Wrong as that may be, it still is understandable. A LOT of people have already dismissed her, regardless of her thought process. That's terrible.

I find this behavior more from the Left than the Right. The Right are polite about it, but I'm sure they're guilty as well. But the minute you give any inch to thinking outside the box, the minute you are shut down by the Left.

Because they know their minds are weak and impressionable. And they think yours are too.

The point is to always be curious about everything. Regardless of your prejudices.

Marijuana Runner

Old news, but an Olympic hopeful, don't recall her name...don't care, got tested positive for marijuana and is, therefore, disqualified.

Honestly, if she was still faster than anyone else...shit add ten medals to this high bitch,

But rules are rules, regardless of what whiny stoners think.

Because rules only become rules when they benefit you.

Or if you feel it's an injustice. You don't give a shit, if say...a homeowner brandishes a gun after rioters broke down their fence and entered their property.

By the way, the couple plead guilty for some dumb reason. The guy is a lawyer for crissake. Dummies.

But yeah, now the rules don't apply.

Left leaning people have always irked me when it comes to these obvious bending of rules to suit their needs. When you loot and burn, they change the language so that it seems virtuous to do so. A LOT of people are getting sick of changing their vocabulary to suit their feelings.

And turning away.

I did. I'm sick of listening to people who have no clue what they want, but they want it NOW!

Wherever this runner ends up...I'm sure she'll be fine. A dispensary should put her on their wall of fame. A fucking road runner who blazed up. Who would've thunk?

The Afterlife?

A lot of people around me have been passing away. I guess that's what happens when you make it past a certain age. You start to see the ones who are left.

If you've committed to working in entertainment to bide your time before you leave this planet...good. Means you will sacrifice a lot to get there. Those who aren't willing...don't know what to tell you.

For those who don't believe in the after life...I get it. My Dad doesn't. He wasn't philosophical about it either. He was very non-chalant. When you go, all you see is darkness and that's it. He didn't mean it in a bad way, just that your conscience mind is no longer functional. Pretty practical.

I also don't begrudge the people who DO believe in the afterlife. Though I do think it leads to some poor behavior on the conscious world because a few believe they will live beyond this physical one.

I had a co-worker who walked me through his belief of no afterlife. He was pretty vague but essentially, he doesn't believe in the afterlife because of resentment towards people who do. In other words, because people who annoy him about God and Jesus rub him the wrong way they are obviously kooks.

Funny stuff.

For me, I think there is something beyond our consciousness. I'm not sure what. And I don't believe it's named Jesus. The mystical afterlife is just that...mystical. Do you re-boot your life from scratch? Do you retain any memories. I recall waking up in a bathtub once naked with the water drained and not remembering how I got there. Will it be something like that?

What is our conscious mind and can we ever even consider existence without it?

How sad it will be to have to backpedal. You appreciate life a lot more when you know if and when it ends, it was at the moment you were looking forward to something.

If You Remain Ignorant

Experience in the filmmaking world is wisdom.

Sometimes you'll find that the older guys impart the young with a lot of it.

The more you are on set, the more you understand why it is run the way it is.

A lot of young people today, especially those who shoot on celluloid, really seek out experience. Because it is a craft that isn't taught in their schools.

We all want to be unique. We all want to learn. Sort of.

There are a handful who go at it rather recklessly. Which is great if you are under the age of 20. As you gain more experience you gain more insight on the ridiculousness of the industry. As none of it will make sense. I feel that young filmmakers tend to gravitate towards getting more onset experience. This will give them the "crash course" into the realities of it. Which I wholeheartedly endorse.

Because it isn't like what you see in press kits. It's not (always) people talking about how nice it is to work with whatever they're co-stars with (Dustin Hoffman apparently is nothing like he is in interviews). Or how they're having fun (it's not fun, it's work...sometimes it's fun...if you're in charge...and even then, you're stressed).

It IS a lot about learning how chaos can form a cohesive product. That product happens to be an emotional tale. Director/Writer Christopher McQuarrie back this up in a podcast in regards to this. We are all banded together to find that story and tell it well.

A good storyteller is what filmmaking is about. That's it. Simple. The complications come in juggling so many different disciplines to achieve it. And none of it can be just...good enough. A good storyteller is rewarded with fame and riches, sometimes. But also can be banished to the dark underworld.

This place is also gripped with fear. If you don't feel fear, you are an idiot. And this place isn't for you.

Fear creates. Fear focuses. Fear motivates. You handle it the best you can.

For those who say they don't have it, they have THE most fear. Or they're deeply broken people. Or they're dumb.

To me, without fear you are ignorant. Which is why sometimes I tell younger people, their greatest asset is their ignorance. They move forward regardless of what is around them.

Actors live in ignorance. Which is why when they snap back into the real world...it's sometimes shocking. Because they can't get the response they want by the "dialogue" they spew. They get a REAL reaction. Which is baffling if words are written for you.

In the case of directing or writing...same. I know growing up, I use to watch movies all the time. And I'd use a line from a movie in real life...which didn't work out well. Because real people react as they would, NOT as you would write for them. Your expectations of their reaction is seldom correct. And it is disarming. Something of a control thing, no?

It's not bad to remain a little ignorant. That's why most people make movies. To learn something they didn't know before. I was always curious why someone who has a passion for something explores something they already know. I think it would make for a boring movie. Or if an actor does the same role over and over again. Seems they would just go through the motion.

Your Freedoms

Farce-book has banned me a few times for instigating a verbal battle. Labeling me a "bully"

I find that laughable as they've also allowed Lefties to get away with everything, as long as it tears into conservative thought.

Typical.

Censorship in America is slowly creeping into all facets of our lives. If you cannot speak, you cannot make art. Because someone out there will find it offensive. And at a certain point they will disagree with you.

Free thought, never thought I'd have to say this, is an incredible privilege. A lot of regimes in totalitarian governments don't like it. They've imprisoned people and have murdered over dissent.

Dissent is fine. HOWEVER, Black Lives Matter, Anti-Fa is NOT. They are terrorist organization that fraud Biden does not want to stop. Because they keep him in power. They lifted his hilarious rise to power under the idea that if you vote for him the burning and the looting stop.

Sort of has. Except, what they couldn't control was the murders in Democratic cities. Why that pig faced idiot Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot met with Biden. Most likely to figure out how to stop making her look bad (you can't. She is one ugly motherfucker...to steal from Arnold in "Predator")

The other thing is that Tucker Carlson's emails...PERSONAL emails were spied on. They were taken by the government. Now, for many of us, we realize everything is sort of looked at. I'm sure this blog has its own spies. Or whatever. I'm nobody. So, whatever. But that is sickening beyond words. That the F.B.I. can now justify reading your personal emails. It doesn't stop. Know why? Because "big tech" has control of all of your personal emails. Someone needs to take a flamethrower to Zuckerberg and Jack Dorsey and all these Lefty terrorist who want have the arrogance to manipulate the majority of emotionally dumb supporters of the Democratic party. If I ever saw Mark Zuck, I'd spit on him. Dumb looking scumbucket.

Any way, the bridge from them to your freedoms isn't that far. The sharing of ideas or even the awful bantering between people should and COULD have a positive effect. America was built on innovation. To which their take is that only THEY may do it. And then allow us peasants to work for them. In a way, we already do. If you're dumb enough to use their platform for any informational exchange.

Their kind sickens me. They're best revenge against the people who have bullied them is to control their own bullies. They will eventually die understanding their cause of the decline of civilization.

Oh, to address Trump's lawsuit against them. Here's the thing...while there is a terms of service in when you sign up for these places...they could be nailed for fraud. Since they present themselves as a fair place for ideas exchange. It is not. It is funded or muscled by whomever has the key to THEIR own freedom. Section 230 to be specific. Which allows these places not to be sued over our exchange of ideas.

In order to get this protection, to which prior to this last election, Trump was about to get rid of their protection. You don't think for a minute they didn't attempt to control the outcome of the election.

That makes them a public entity at that point.

I hope they get fucked good.

Wii Spa And The Magical Weenus

So let me get this right, you filthy Lefties...

A tranny can go into a woman's room at a fancy spa and show his weenus (soon to be gone, I presume) but I can't tell a man who sucks cock is a degenerate puke.

Oooookay.

Look, this spa is fancy schmancy, and I would never find myself there, but the Asians who run it should know better. You are suppose to be the ones who could give a flying fuck about politically correct culture. For instance, standing on your shops during the Rodney King riots with a rifle and shooting at looters. What happen to THOSE Koreans?

Also, you degenerate, confused trannies... show some fucking class and save going into the ladies room UNTIL you get your weenus cut off. It's a nice place where young girls go. No one needs to see pecker. Especially forcibly by law.

I find it funny that the only video I have is from an outraged Black woman.

Okay...I asked my friend this...what is the tier system for anger and outrage? Does a tranny supersede a Black woman? Either way, the answer is... whomever gives their cause more money.

Also...why are we changing our lifestyle to meet what is essentially a miniscule population?

This is so baffling. It's like we're using these freaks to further prove how tolerant we are.

Big mistake.

It never ends.

Quentin Tarantino On Bruce Lee By Way Of Shannon Lee

"I’m tired of hearing from white men in Hollywood that he was arrogant and an asshole when they have no idea and cannot fathom what it might have taken to get work in 1960s and ’70s Hollywood as a Chinese man with (God forbid) an accent, or to try to express an opinion on a set as a perceived foreigner and person of color. I’m tired of white men in Hollywood mistaking his confidence, passion and skill for hubris and therefore finding it necessary to marginalize him and his contributions. I’m tired of white men in Hollywood finding it too challenging to believe that Bruce Lee might have really been good at what he did and maybe even knew how to do it better than them.

I’m tired of hearing from white men in Hollywood that he wasn’t really a martial artist and just did it for the movies. My father lived and breathed martial arts. He taught martial arts, wrote about martial arts, created his own martial art, innovated martial arts training, and refused to compete in martial arts tournaments because he believed combat should be “real.” He had no parallel as a martial artist. And I don’t think it’s a stretch to say he had no parallel as a martial artist on film, either.

I’m tired of white men in Hollywood barely footnoting the impact he had on the action film genre and fight choreography, or the proliferation of and interest in martial arts he sparked globally, or the number of people and communities he continues to inspire and touch with his performances, philosophies, teachings and practices while casually downplaying how his accomplishments have lifted spirits and become a source of pride for Asian Americans, communities of color and people around the world, and how he accomplished all of this by the age of 32."

- SHANNON LEE

This was a response to Quentin Tarantino on Joe Rogan's podcast, in regards to her father not being/or deserving the accolades he achieved.
Look, Bruce is a deeply flawed person. And I have to preface this by saying...I hated Bruce Lee. He was the bane of my existence. He didn't bring the unity people are saying. In fact, he made my life difficult in that I had to constantly fend off people who wanted to fight me. I am scrappy to this day for that reason. And don't back down from a fist fight. IF fist fighting is all it is. You actually make friends this way. HOWEVER, most often than not he perpetuated much more stereotypes than anyone. The cinema didn't bring a love of Asian culture. It brought on a greater sense of paranoia that every "Chinaman" knew how to kick ass.
I do find Tarantino's comments on the podcast funny. I mean, he's really shitting on Linda Lee Caldwell, who may or may not have know who Bruce was really about. Note to Quentin..IF you recall..she admits that in the movie.
What Shannon may be saying is that...here we are again with a White filmmaker who takes potshots to chip away at Bruce's legacy. It may be truth, but how often does HE build things on the mythical. Try...all the fucking time. He lives in the mythical. And makes movies based on that.
His movies are a mix tape of other movies, so I find it appropriate he would defend stealing. Especially when it comes to the story of the making of "Kung-Fu" t.v. series.
Would love to hear how a Jewish man in 70's Hollywood came up with that. Nevermind casting the Whitest dude in Hollywood.
Will Tarantino dodge someone else in the universe who chips away at his legacy?
Well, he's alive to defend it.
In Tarantino's case, it probably would've been smarter to say that he understands the legacy of Bruce and respects it (which he probably did but has been buried in his other rants and cheap digs). Especially since he stole the costume from "Game Of Death" for "Kill Bill" The reverence for Bruce can sustain regardless of his criticism of the truth.
"Once Upon A Time in Hollywood.." I feel, is Tarantino finest film. Because it's not entirely a mixed tape. It's a fable of this town in that time. He finally grew up.
But the controversy over Bruce's life won't ever seem to end.
All fine, if the conversations sparks debate on race relations in Hollywood.

Richard Donner

I was very fortunate enough to have met director Richard Donner many moons ago.

And he is exactly who you think he is.

Fun loving silly goofball. Everyone's grandpa (at this point).

His laugh was infectious and his sense of humor beyond anything I've ever seen in a man who made some great cinema.

I suppose you can sort of tell by the vamping Martin Riggs and Roger Murtaugh do in the "Lethal Weapon" series. That is almost always Mr. Donner sitting back and watching Mel Gibson and Danny Glover banter and wise-crack. He's said on a few occasions how he's ruined takes by his boisterous laughter.

And folks...that is all what it is about.

Fun.

I can imagine, and I really hope to be some day, that guy who makes movies with this much joy. Not that moviemaking requires that fun, but the silliness he brought to movies is SO joyful. I can only assume a set run by Mr. Donner was all kinds of pranks and laughs.

Much like my dream is to only make movies with people I care about and whom I care about, I certainly think he imbued his cast and crew with the same lightheartedness that permeates through his films.

That isn't to say he wasn't serious when it was warranted. I suspect he just wanted people to be at ease. Because set work is long hours, a ton of commitment and chaos. He probably saw himself as a ringleader to a circus.

I truly am going to miss his style of filmmaking. I don't think anyone today has his sense of lightness I think movies desperately need. I wish I had gotten to ask him more questions. He was VERY wise in filmmaking and incredibly astute when it came to story construction. And had an instinct to it, YOU CANNOT teach.

I miss him already.

What Are You Waiting For?!

I do a podcast where I speak to people who make movies on film. Like, real Kodak film.

I had a conversation with a filmmaker who is in the process of making a film now. She, like myself, do it almost as a one person army. Which is everything.

A few days ago, I got a message about all the "testing" she's been doing. And, she decided to make a feature film.

I understand this. Many times, I will just grab my camera and go out shooting. It's really therapy. Alone with a camera capturing images.

However, it also isn't what I would say is...filmmaking. This is stalling to make a movie.

So what are you waiting for?

The answer...to be ready.

Ready for what? You may be asking. I did. I don't know. Except I do have a theory...

Most of us in making movies come from some form of an art world. In that world there are colossal douchebags. They nitpick and shit on everything. They are the cattiest shitheads you can ever assemble in one place. IF I were a professor of that school, I'd tell them one thing...

First off, you are going to suck. Or have moments of suck. What you make is going to be no-good. THEN, I would say...SO FUCKING WHAT?!

You are suppose to suck. And fail. And make shit. I have. You will. Everyone does. In fact, the higher you get up the ladder, the worse the fall.

I think we have this mentality that we are suppose to impress those who will never be impressed.

I say...fuck 'em.

MAKE YOUR FUCKING MOVIE.

Don't wait. You have no one to impress except yourself.

Because when you make something. Anyone with a brain will be impressed.

I've seen too many talented people wait, prepare, "get ready", overthink...then never do.

Look, you are suppose to make shit. In fact, the movie business calls it that ALL THE TIME. "Here's that piece of shit you wanted (script)" "Where is that piece of shit?" (actors), "Guy is making a piece of shit" (director).

You will not be immune to this, so who fucking cares?

Repeat: "Fuck 'em"

I'm always impressed if anyone makes anything.

American Flag And Olympics

Someone on the American Olympic team turned her back on the American flag when the anthem was played. For third place.

Hahahaha. Lady, you didn't get the gold and you're still a piece of shit. Wait till you get the gold AND THEN have a platform to be an idiot.

America funded this entitled animal. Gave her the comforts of being a world class competitor. Yes, you dummy, you were GIVEN this. You didn't earn shit. Your sole purpose in life is to run. Think about that for a second.

And she is ungrateful. While it is true she can do and say what she wants in America, because...this animal takes full and complete privilege of America when it suits her. She will be forgotten as she came in third place.

The balls on this woman.

Wait...maybe....hmmm...

To Vaccinate Or Not To Vaccinate...That Is The Question

Hey dummies, this wasn't FDA approved.

Know what else?

Pretty soon you'll have another identification card in your wallet. One that says you got a vaccination and will have to provide proof to do anything. Remember when America was free? This is how they get you.

So let me get this fucking clear, you don't need to show an I.D. to vote but you need one to exist. Where were all you morons who thought people shouldn't need an I.D. to vote.

Why do people fight having an I.D. to vote? Wait, I shall backtrack...Why do Lefties not want I.D. to vote? Because of all the illegal voting. Duh.

So now what happened to "my body, my choice?" Oh right, now that you feel threatened or scared or whatever fucking pansy shit it is this week, you change your mind.

Hey nitwits, THIS is the future you wanted. A little short-sighted wouldn't you say? Because you stupid fucking Lefties are reactionary. Meaning you only enact when it effects you. Though you pretend like you care about society.

For fuck's sake, grow a fucking brain. People should be allowed to do whatever the fuck they want, without hurting anyone directly. Want to change the health of society? Crack down on the inner city. Save many more lives than the totalitarian Lefty mindset of " you will bend to my will"

Fuck outta here.

IF you feel like you need to live in fear for the rest of your life (for something as low as 99.98% survival...remember statistics, ya' fucks...of course not, you Lefty idiots still believe Biden won the election...it's laughable when you consider the odds. Less than you winning lottery...proof), then you deserve to live in darkness. Let the rest of society move forward (as I've said from the start).

We've turned into a society of old fucking White women. Worried about our own shadows.

Now garbage pit fuckface-Book bans all those who call Biden a fraud AND that the vaccine is bullshit. Yep, a platform to which a lot of morons get "news" is now also burying facts and truth. You should be VERY worried. If you were put in their pissy ass jail, say it with me...Zuckerberg can suck a big fat cock.

Also, the fuck is Jew Zuckerberg running smoke screen for the Left now. Hey, dummy...the Left hate Jews. Didn't get that memo in Facebook? Yeah, because one of your censors blocked that information.

Jesus, media sucks big time. Fuck them.

Dump them.

Juneteenth

Really wasn't sure what this day was until it was explained at work that we could take the day off.

But I couldn't. Because unions don't follow this "holiday" but not because I am union...I work for unions.

After a little research, apparently it is the day that slavery in America was completely outlawed. Which...I don't think there's any other country that addresses their biggest mistakes in history than America. EVERY society has had slavery. Some still do. In things like indentured servitude. Debts owed are debts paid.

But in American slavery, because America thrived greatly from it, America needs to be reminded of its ugliness.

And it is ugly. Treating human beings as property has to be the ugliest notion in the human heart. We've seen experiments similar to this, and NONE of us are immune. Consider if Blacks were given the same power that Whites were and you'd see how that would pan out (it seems this is the direction we're heading where they are determined to make every White person feel the wrath of the past).

Slavery is ugly. But coming to terms with mistakes SHOULD be forgivable. But it isn't. And, in my opinion, never will be. It's like being married. Women never forget the slights.

Which is a lot of the reason why some communities never thrive. Because there's no many beefs based on pride.

Now, before a few of you idiotic Lefties come down hard on me about the fact that I would never understand what it meant because I am not Black, consider that I grew up in the 1980's in Ohio when the Vietnam War was 5 years removed. I'm not even fucking Vietnamese, but the soldiers that came back still existed in my community. In all communities. Yeah, it's a strange comparison, but I would say the shit I endured throughout my childhood of White racists equaled those of my contemporary Black neighbors. And I got MORE shit from Black people than any other race. That's what happening now, but the press don't have the courage to admit it.

Juneteenth seems to be a consolation prize to ugliness that the Founding Fathers can't shake. And yes, they were ugly racist. But that doesn't mean America is racist. It means we learned from our mistakes rather than bury the history (like White Lefties want to do). Democrats didn't free the slaves, Republicans did. Guess you didn't hear that one.

As one person puts it, it's a celebration of pretending the people who ran the ruse of pandering to the Black community needs to pretend they cared about them all along. Enter Joe Biden. Who embraces Juneteenth as much as Nancy Pelosi embraced her (hahaha) Kunte scarf. Comically stupid people who, have somehow won the pandering war with Black America. Or we know it's all fraud. Which it is.

Wake up people. Things like this doesn't solve race problems.

James Mangold: The Twitter Warrior

Director James Mangold has taken shots at the Twitter world for the slights people online have been making against his directing the fifth Indiana Jones.

He has many valid points and you can search them on twitter to realize how off the rails he becomes.

Essentially he is briskly telling the "fans" to wait till the fucking thing is done to shit on him. Or the project. Which I wholeheartedly agree with.

I'm not a fan of his movies BUT I love his craft (except for shooting this one on digital, which I understand the logistics of making an actor look more presentable). He wouldn't be the first person I thought of when it came to the Indy Jones franchise. In fact, I actually thought Jake Kasdan would've been pretty solid after coming off the "Jumanji" reboots.

Any how, Mangold goes I can see he is a film enthusiasts, which, in my opinion, makes him as qualified as anyone. I have no link to the Indy series other than they do represent great memories in my childhood. That's it. They were meant to be serials helmed by different people (which I was attempting to do myself). To that, I doubt he could do worse than "The Crystal Skull" one.

Also, it occurred to me, that as society changes so does the actual craft of making them. I think the cinematography of Douglas Slocumbe will never be outdone by anyone else. There was a time and place and uniqueness to his addition to the series which I found STILL incredible today. I bring up shooting on celluloid for that reason. The cinematographer on this Phedon Papamichael ASC, is REALLY well trained and exceptionally capable of capturing their own take of the Indy world.

However, the biggest mistake of ever tackling a mythical film is that you can't help but compare. I don't think many people who accept this responsibility, much like the "Star Wars" series. I would never try, not because of cowardice, but because I know the anchor it comes with. And...boy...the public will bury you in your own doubts.

Actually, kudos to Mangold for standing up for his project. Or the committee's project. I would never assume a person with such independent bones would want to do a summer blockbuster.

I would say...that's courage. I mean, in the film world anyway.

A Few Words From The Public

Okay, so a person had contacted me in regards of my "bitter, cynical, angry..."

To be clear, I am actually trying to encourage you to do your own thing without having to kowtow to people who hate you.

Yes, Hollywood hates you and judges you.

You think Meryl Streep looks a homeless person in the eyes when she walks around L.A. (if she walks)? Doubt it. Think Chris Evans likes to ride the bus?

No, this is what normal people do. To get by. I would not aspire to people like these. Even established people/filmmakers tend to be sheltered. And it's obvious they consider your life much less valuable then their own. Why? Because they can tell a good story? I guess.

The movie business, aside from what type of entertainment they provide, is also a perception machine. It's a business...don't you be mistaken. And you would fare better getting a lawyer license to break in, then a literary degree (most have). The rest is just getting through one hurdle after another.

What I am suggesting, is to get that chip on your shoulder, tell those guys to "fuck off!" and do your thing (within your own comfort level). That is freedom, people.

The reason why I shit on the people who pursue the more "loftier" goals is because these are not the people you want to associate with. At least, I hope you don't. They may have a ton of money, but they also have your balls in a sling.

The greatest freedom is to tell the story you want to tell. Which comes at a price but the cost is so low...in my opinion...your dignity.

Own Up To Your Bullshit

A co-worker and I were rapping about all the homeless in this town.

We're fucked in Los Angeles. It's not gonna be fixed anytime soon. Or with any real impact to repairing what the fucking idiotic Lefty politicians have done to this place.

Well, the conversation was about why and how homeless got to be that.

He went for the easy answer...mental illness and drugs. Which is very true.

I went for the less than common spoken about thing which is this...

homeless people will never hold themselves accountable for anything

Because that would require shame. And that is the only they hold onto.

This goes across the board from the ones who lost their entire living in substance abuse to mentally ill (which I get that it is a chemical imbalance here).

The one thing is...they will never apologize for anything. They won't take part in what got them to that place. Watch...ask a homeless person how they got there. 99.9% will say it was due to someone else OR lean on an excuse. Never is it..."I really screwed up with my wife." "My folks tried to get me help but I was a shit and I feel bad now and I regret it." Or "it's all my fault I'm in this situation."

In this case, they justify living like a low rent animal by mentally believing society is the one that suffers from the daily grind. This is sociopathic behavior. And the reason why you see more of them here than anywhere else is because of a) the weather b) entitled entertainment people.

People do come to Hollywood hoping to be the next Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie or, Paul Thomas Anderson, Ron Bass, or whatever. They believe they should be that, because in their little home town, they were big.

Here, you disappear. Then it's everyone else's fault you aren't where you deserve to be.

As Bill Muny says in "Unforgiven" deserving has nothing to do with it.

But entertainment people cannot digest this. So they hold everyone else at fault.

Again, go ahead and listen to a homeless person. They say idiotic things instead of pointing it directly at themselves for stupid behavior and bad choices. Perhaps they're cursed for making bad choices. Like given the chance to do the right thing or the wrong thing, they inexplicably pick the wrong thing.

I'd forgive anyone who believes this to be their answer.

At least ignorance is more interesting.

Inclusivity

Inclusivity is the ugliest word ever. Hollywood loves to use it.

It implies that you are allowing me to participate in your shitty event because I'm desperate to be in your club. And that even if you're underqualified, you still get to do something for them.

Fuck you. I don't need your permission to create my own club.

Which I have.

To be honest, I had no other choice. Because regardless of how "inclusive" Hollywood is, they don't give a shit unless you make money. And if you don't...color be damned. And I don't care to make the powers-that-be money. Because I'm not greedy scumbags for which this town is full of.

Don't let the bullshit social justice thing fool you. Most who work, don't have enough time to care. And those who've made it live behind guarded gates. Duh.

That is the truth.

So take your inclusivity and shove it.

You certainly don't need to announce that you're throwing us colored folk a bone.

Crew Stories

I love a great crew story.

I'm on a page now that has all the people who work on production that get to talk about their experiences. It's great because they all have stories that we, who worked in production, could relate.

I remember asking a friend when he came back from his shoot about his experiences shooting his film. He looked at me blankly..."it was great!"

That was it.

A few months later, the stories came out. But it took a while and I wonder about that.

I think this generation sort of...I dunno, thinks they're on the hotseat when it comes to pretending production is fun. It's not suppose to be. It's chaos and garbage and a lot of moving parts that never work. Imagine being on a boat and you bring up the anchor, and the engine dies, and then you fix the engine and there's a leak.

THAT is making movies.

And, for the most part, if you have the budget and time, there is little panic (or if you work on a union film). Because, we aren't curing cancer. And it's not life or death. Maybe if the producer is in with mafia...then maybe (which I've suspected a few shoots I've been on have been).

But I never understood the tight lipped nature of some people not to share their war stories. I suppose it could be the "don't kiss and tell" bullshit. But telling experiences of film shoots (good or bad) is the backbone of why we do it. And to learn from it.

In the example I mentioned above, and some of the stories I eventually was told, I learned a few lessons.

If you're stubborn, you probably wouldn't take many of it as cautionary tales. Also, it does weed out the serious people versus the not so serious people.

You will re-define your place a lot in the movie business, if you decide to pursue it.

A lot of people will fight it. Pretend like it's all roses. You're morons.

A few of you probably wonder why I'm still in it if I hate it so much.

If you paid attention, here's why...

I'm not in it. I work for it, and do my own thing. So fuck you.

A lot of people who do attempt to work in it, want to work for people who have the power, money and leverage to make something a ton of people will watch. And most of what I say will fall on deaf ears. A kid I'm mentoring now (I say kid, when they're 24, which is a kid in movie world) believes and hopes he gets someone to fund his projects. He's extremely talented and wholeheartedly believes he gets the chance. Reality? Probably not. As good as his film may be and as much effort as he puts in them...he may go invisible. And then the excuses come out. "They don't hire young White men" "I need the right people to see it..." etc...

This may be true, but it's not reality.

Reality is you will more than likely not get your chance to make the movie you want. NOT because you aren't good because there are a lot of people who also know a lot of people that are also ignored.

It's not your fault.

The only thing is your fault, is your attitude.

Instead of resenting Hollywood...do something for yourself. It doesn't have to go through them. The stories you tell between friends are a reminder that industry work is a shit show.

Keep pretending you deserve what you work for, make up lies about how much "fun" it is and see how far that goes.

The truth...enjoy what YOU are doing. And have a laugh at the ridiculousness of the biz.

"In The Heights" Bombed Big

Whichever idiot gave this the greenlight will probably fail up.

Sorry folks, it may be a good movie, but at a time when the majority of Americans, patriotic Americans are trying to get the frauds in the White House to go down to the border and illegal immigration and border jumpers, you fucking okay a story about how great it is to be in a ghetto that not even the ghetto recognizes.

Fucking morons.

Tone deaf Hollywood at its finest.

They don't give a fuck about your diversity (or phony one, at that). They care about being entertained.

So yes, it probably was a hit on Broadway, because all the nancies in that stupid garbage pit New Yawk city loves themselves. But for America, your pandering rings phony. And to spend $55 mil on the production is laughable. The fuck were you thinking Warners.

Hey, I shill for my Asian kind in director Jon Chu. But this just perhaps gave a window into how NOT GOOD "Crazy Rich Asians" was (it's okay).

It did make me happy that it also exposed how useless press is. Regardless of how hard you attempt to push an agenda to your corporate overlords. The corporations know the Left are emotional nitwits that are easily led. The Right can be fooled as well. But, think about how insulting it is they choose you over the latter. The Right tend to be much more skeptical of this behavior. There is no good will in business.

Look, stop being this type of pandering patronizing industry. Just make a good story. ANY story.

When you watch the trailer to this...what do you think it's about?

Here's me: It's tough to be a Puerto Rican in this town so I'mma' dance.

Pathetic.

No Romeo and Juliet. No...um...plot. Just...I'mma' sing and dance.

Also...why paint the shithole of New York anything than what it is? Why glossy up the shit?

It's still shit.

And America knew it.

Rich Kid Movies - John Hughes Sucks

I've always hated "rich kid movies"

What do I mean by that?

That rich White kids have everything given to them but they're still miserable. "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" is the prime example. Entitled shit who got everything and still decides to bring grief to adults because...he's bored. Ooooo edgy.

Anything John Hughes, really. He grew up in rich kid Evanston, Illinois (which I've been too a few times). They're dicks in that community. There was a rule back when I visited where you couldn't own a pickup truck in that town because it was "unsightly." Sure those assholes lightened up.

Rich kid movies are ones where you are just baffled why they have issues. I think the message was suppose to be "even rich kids with good parents have issues" But they make the parents act and look like retards. Yea, nice message. And my classmates lapped it up.

I did see "Ferris Bueller..." in the theater. It was at a dual theater that had been running for almost a year (I eventually ended up working at that very theater as a late teen). It was..."meh" I just didn't get what the big deal was.

Conversely, a movie like "Back To School" was more my type of flick. It has the same sensibility but skates a little bit towards a better message. The fuck was Ferris all about. Except he's too cool for school and outsmarts everyone. Smug is gross.

In reality, Ferris would be put in boarding school and forgotten. Pretty easy to catch a kid who breaks the fourth wall talking into the camera.

I do give John Hughes credit for fooling people into believing his movies are any good. Some function STRICTLY on nostalgia. Even when they first came out into theaters.

Not a John Hughes flick but..."Less Than Zero" bugged me too. I don't blame anyone involved, since the source material is as vapid as the movie. It was suppose to be more so.

I don't know what's suppose to pass as dark comedy back then, but supposedly Brett Easton Ellis considered it that. That people are so shallow they don't show emotions in the correct places. Surprise! That's how you feel when you watch the flick or read the book (which I did....you're left with "so what?").

Ugh...yes, rich White people have problems. But seriously...the general public doesn't give a fuck about that.
