The Death Of Senator John McCain

A very polarizing guy.
John McCain was that guy who ran for President of the U.S. in 2008, for all those too young. I liked the guy then, and thought he was going to win.  But Barack Obama beat him and the rest is history.
What makes this interesting was, McCain was a bomber pilot who was shot down in Vietnam and held as a prisoner of war for five years. Can you imagine that? Pretty amazing to have survived that. I whole heartedly respect the guy and would've been much happier with him as President. Seemed less abrasive back then. During his last years, he seemed to have been (what Conservative media called) a Republican In Name Only. Which is their way to insult a guy who has liberal leanings. Very vocal in his distaste for Donald Trump.
I'm sure he had the inside scoop, in terms of the ugliness of the man. Or others around him. But he is a politician. Much like Hilary Clinton and Obama. And ESPECIALLY George Bush, so my gripe with him is that he was happy to stay the course.
He was fairly old back in 2008 when he was running for prez and happily made fun of himself over it. Shows like Saturday Night Live showcased him because he was willing to be the butt of their jokes. But he still lost.
What is really curious is why the Left is fawning over him now. As a Republican. Because he openly went against the dreaded Trump? That you think he took the high road of morality because Trump is a monster? As long as you admit to that...I'm cool with it.
His days come to an end now, so what's next for Arizona? Who knows? Senators seem to be useless (with all due respect). Bickering with one another and nothing gets done.

Ben Affleck and Alcoholism

Muli-talented Ben Affleck checked into rehab to deal with a drinking problem. Seems to be a very real awful addiction that has claimed many of us in the Gen-X category.
I spoke with a co-worker who is under the age of 30 yesterday about the generation today.  I consider them much more mature than we are, despite being listless Millenials. I regaled stories of drunken behavior when I lived in Hollywood, all to when I left Sherman Oaks when it'd been the worse. I saw it with fondness but now see it as a waste of time. I don't regret any of it, only that I lost precious time. It was mostly to conceal a very inadequate part of me and my career at the time. A lot of stress and loneliness that drinking cure, until I woke up the next morning. It kept anger and depression at the top of emotional spiral. And it made disappointment disappear. Most of the time I drank, I did create. Wrote a lot. Had a ton of movie ideas. Because the reality wasn't worth facing.
I understand Affleck's need to stay drunk. Mostly because he is under the microscope of everyone who wants him to fail. Because he is charmed. I suspect the failure of a recent movie sent him into a depression regardless of the fact that he made a Best Picture film. I also suspect he may be haunted by inadequacies too. Doesn't how handsome or rich you are. Which is awful when you're under the microscope of the public. The rest of the world will never pity a guy this successful.
To me, I wish him well. The path to begin, if I look back now, is awful. Most of the time drinking meant now free time to re-evaluate the people you've damaged. Or yourself. This business has a tendency to drive you insane with doubt. Despite what a front anyone puts up. EVERYONE is terrified their position is to go back to the bottom. But a bottom is what some of us need to hit. I know plenty of people who suffer from this, and self-medicate. Doesn't help they surround themselves with people who don't look out for their best interest. More than likely most well-wishers check in if not to feel their lives aren't a colossal shit-show. It's human.
For a LOT of successful people I've seen in the movie industry, many are haunted. By a time that was better. The good ol' days they'd like to re-live. But as time presses forward they are replaced by responsibility. Adult ones that aren't what we expected when we got into it. That's when you need to adjust or die on the vine. We're not suppose to be grown ups. Because grown ups are boring and offer nothing interesting. In Affleck's case, perhaps seeing younger faces sent him to re-live those times he had that freedom. I don't blame him. It's not easy being a grown up.

Toxic Masculinity

This term has been thrown out as to why the illegal Mexican killed the White Iowan girl as a way for her relative to explain why it wasn't that he was a illegal that killed their kin, it was a man who wanted to exert power.
First off, no fucking shit Sherlock. Second, so instead of telling everyone who blames an illegal that it wasn't that he was illegal but that he was a man is generalizing men. No one on this side of the table is going to pity your fucking dumb family then. Because you claim there is something in men inherent to violence if women turn them down. How do you explain Asia Argento who raped a child? Is that "toxic feminity"? Where is the true outrage for that? The same people who came up with the term "toxic masculinity" most likely also excused her bad behavior. Or toxic behavior as it were.

We're not weaponizing his illegal status to build a wall. Building a wall is fucking stupid. Unless you mean figurative wall. To that, yeah. illegal Mexicans have nothing to lose and have already broken a law. It's funny how little outrage the relatives and family are having over this. Something...mark my words, SOMETHING is going to be revealed that is going to really shock us.

The New Left

It's taken me a while to fully understand what has been bugging me about the Left. They are emotionally retarded.
Hence why you see the entertainment business turn to them.
I say this because...here's the deal...America is great. You can do whatever you want, be whomever you want, live however you like. Our poor look like kings in really poor countries. So why the anti-Trump? I really don't know. Other than he's annoying as shit.
There is no U.S. President who could ever shake the pillars of what we've built. Don't care if it were Obama or Hillary or Trump. None of them. That's how much I believe in the American people and the foundation we've built. Meanwhile, the dickbag at the gym who is sicken by Trump had this to say today to me "Americans are horrible people, I know, I know Americans" Verbatim this is what he said. In other words, he has no faith in our society. To me, that is the sickness of the Left. That they have never had faith in the American people. Why you see a lot of "liberals" who suffer anxiety and stress and...well, they've been shown how awful people are. This guy has admitted to being abused by kids growing up. White dude from Utah who turned WAY Left. He equates Americans with those bullies. Like Trump. I've absolutely been bullied. As one of the three Asian kids in school. But it built character in me. To have inner thoughts. To explore story ideas. To be a storyteller. To entertain. Most aren't thankful for this because it is a deep source of resentment. I'm pretty sure my eldest sister faced ugliness I can't describe. Which is why she holds society in contempt as well. I joke that do, but in reality, I have absolute faith that people do do the right thing. Except in Hollywood. Where the Left can hide and do bad things (remember they're awful phonies).
There is nothing Trump can do to shake my admiration for America. There wasn't anything Obama could either. Seems to me, the ones who hate Trump are rabid animals these days. They can't see a better future and see nonsensical overreacting situations such as nuclear warfare (like it matters once that goes). Furthermore, it's not like any of these Leftist, in my immediate view) have set out to better themselves anyway. Most are waiting for government to guide them (another reason to hate Trump, I suppose...you don't want to owe that guy anything).
So, time to man-up Americans on the Left. Suck it up and endure. Enjoy the incredible wealth we have and stop fucking whining.

That's It For Illegal Immigrants

A man from Mexico living in the U.S. illegally has confessed to kidnapping college student Mollie Tibbetts while she was running in her small Iowa hometown, killing her and dumping her body in a rural field, authorities said Tuesday.
Cristhian Bahena Rivera, 24, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the death of Tibbetts, whose July 18 disappearance set off a massive search involving state and federal authorities.
Rivera led investigators early Tuesday to a body believed to be Tibbetts in a cornfield about 12 miles (19 kilometers) southeast of Brooklyn, Iowa, where Tibbetts was last seen running, Division of Criminal Investigation special agent Rick Rahn said.
"I can't speak about the motive. I can just tell you that it seemed that he followed her, seemed to be drawn to her on that particular day, for whatever reason he chose to abduct her," Rahn told reporters at a news conference outside the sheriff's office in Montezuma, where Rivera was being jailed.
Investigators said they zeroed in on Rivera after obtaining footage from surveillance cameras in Brooklyn. The footage showed a Chevy Malibu connected to Rivera that was driving back and forth as Tibbetts was running in the area, Rahn said.
Well folks, so much for that nice immigrant who crossed over appearing to be a refugee or whatever the fuck the Left want you to believe now. And too bad, they almost gathered traction only for this fucking beaner to fuck everything up. Never mind we already had Katie Steinle murdered and the shooter acquitted. The Left think this is a game. If anything, they should be first in line to lynch this fucker.
So what now, Leftist? What now? You fucked up and you're fucking retards. And you let another American die.
Trump was right, Mexicans only give us their drug smugglers and their murderers. This fucking idiot couldn't even lay low.

Asia Argento, the Sex Predator

How is it when Harvey Weinstein got busted, they couldn't make enough references to Shrek. Meanwhile now Argento is wrapped up in a sexual assault against a teen whom she'd paid off for his silence. Hearing this, Rose McGowan.
A friend of mine recently went to a party where he saw Kanye West kibbutzing wth Brad Pitt. A secret underground party. The truth is, they're all phony. Money is the motivator, but honestly...it's perception. Attention, drama and perception. None of these celebs really believe politically what they're crowing about. This is simply to continue getting the limousine Leftist loot. Shit, I'll say gay marriage is the best thing if they bought me a Holmby Hills mansion.
But they're rich famous and phony. Yeah, they most likely got manhandled, but they were willing to accept the check that comes with living well.
Hollywood has always been one fat casting couch that beautiful women can't seem to grasp. There are a TON of them just walking the street like everyone else. So the luster isn't the same anymore.
That said, you have to wonder the mentality of someone who goes after sexual predator after knowingly being one herself. And, as I've mentioned in prior blatherings, Anthony Bourdain being complicit in the cover-up. As I've said, that junkie loser was scummy when I listened to him. Something in the way he spoke. I never watched anything he's done, so the public seems to be enamored wth his travels. He seemed like a colossal douche. Well, I'm right again (douchey).

"Crazy Rich Asians" (2018)

Put the emphasis wherever you like, are they crazy, or crazy rich, or rich Asians?
This buoyant movie is aping from so many of the bygone 50's romantic comedies that seems to be jammed into 90's but functions in the 2018's. The story is of Rachel Chu (Constance Wu), a perky New Yorker whose boyfriend has a friend who is getting married. This is Nick Young (Henry Golding), a fresh faced oddly optimistic Chinese mix from Singapore. He convinces Rachel to join him only to discover he is heir to a massive fortune.

And now the cattiness starts between Nick's mother played brilliantly (and coldly) by Michelle Yeoh and Rachel. But also Nick's relatives and friends who grew up with the guy.

It's hard to imagine any of them remaining friends past grade school, so for the most part, the writers Peter Chiarelli and Adele Lim, did a smart thing. She made them extended family. Which is what Asian families do. Friends aren't friends, they're extended relatives.
Wealth is grossly spread on this excursion. To an extent to where you really are sick of the extravagance (but I also say so with the royals, because essentially, that is who this family is).

The two young kids in love sidestep the messiness of pettiness and also attempt to curtail a very sticky moment of responsibility. Only, the resolution lacks a finale. If you're going to blast from the past, why not go corny all the way? Instead, none of this anchored in excess or wealth is going to eventually end well. Though we're led to believe, in a ridiculously corny "Titanic" seeing all the dead people end moment. Director Jon M. Chu nails that part. He doesn't care and neither does the script, and neither should the viewer. This movie is a bygone feel good, don't think too hard romantic comedy. And it IS refreshing but also still, it might've dug a hole too deep for some not to come back from.
Either way, a fun diversion, which...I have to say, makes rich Asians look pretty fast and furious. Thank God we didn't go down that road. I'm pretty sure the vastness of the screen is going to humble a lot of people. It looks great for digital origination. It works well on the whole.

Platitudes From Actors

If you've been in Hollywood for a while working to be in movies or television, a strange thing happens. We start to present ourselves in platitudes. These are little blurbs sent out into the world to remind ourselves why we're doing it.
What we get back are words of encouragement. Which is so very kind. The reality is probably far dire than we realize, since by this time, the talent is on the brink of questioning why they push this boulder up a hill. We endure. Despite it all.

I have a few actress friends. Incredibly beautiful and talented. They work very hard, do all the right things. Take care of themselves and are very very serious about their craft. But no matter what they do, they can't get into a room to show them what they can do. I'm not talking about people starting out either. These are people who have done a lot. But, people are forgotten really quickly here and the reality sinks in that they have to churn project after project and never stop. On top of all that...they still have to maintain life and get past the one hurdle that has nothing to do with training...luck.
Luck and dumb luck are very synonymous in Hollywood. In any other town, where you can make your films, it's more luck and opportunity than just dumb luck. Sidebar, the snobs of this fucking town think the people outside of Hollywood are just making school plays on video. They can't come to terms that they don't need to conquer this Shitville town to feel important. Anyway, so beautiful funny and talented talent goes unnoticed. Because, you quickly realize a LOT of people are beautiful and talented. What is it that separates you from others? Hard to say. Hard to ask from people who know you too. They don't know. They know your personality, but sometimes that is incongruous to how others perceive you. Now you wait for someone to tell you. This is wrong. Frustrating, yes, but with project after project...you do eventually realize what your "type" is.

Many of these pretty girls who come out here, play the pretty girl. In every facet of their lives. Pretty people, while watchable are a thing of the past. No one identifies as pretty. There's been a backlash against that actually. So after months and years of toil, well, the platitudes come out.
I do this too. Which is why I recognize it. Things like "I'd rather live a million miserable days than sit around waiting for the world to come to me." Corny? You bet. A lot of women do this in general. They pep talk themselves to endure the ups and downs of a mostly down business. I can't even imagine it being a business, come to think of it. The seriousness of it ruins the joy for a lot of people (out come the platitudes). It is, unfortunately, a business. When I was in film school I crunched numbers. Not a fun thing to do. The nuts and bolts are unsatisfactory. So why in God's name would presenting yourself as a product be anything but a grind (here come those platitudes again). Most actors live in platitudes. You have to. Because any level of self-doubt shakes the already weak foundation of faith. I am always floored by actors who have their faith shaken when I know how talented they are.

Aretha Franklin

Ms. Franklin got me through some bad times in high school.
Depressed, angry and pussy-less, that voice carried me through some dark tunnels. I still have her in my limited iTunes catalog. Stayed there after all other music fell into obscurity. Her soul singing was a warm thought on a cold autumn morning before band camp. Yeah, I was born old. The Motown sound blaring in my tinty Blaupunkt cassette player driving through the backroads of Ohio thinking about girls and how one would eventually do me wrong. Later in life, a much more significance when you lose someone. She was spirituality without mention of God. You could move on. Move forward. With dignity. I'm sure my story is no different than millions of others. She was the Queen of Soul who spoke to us who lost our soul. Thanks for the great tunes, Ms. Franklin.

Ah Fuck The Timing

I wrote a feature that has something to do with the Catholic church and the scandal of priests molesting boys. This week 6 diocese are accused of assaulting 1000's of boys in Pennsylvania. You know what REALLY blows? My story isn't about that, BUT I'm probably going to get shit like I'm jumping on the bandwagon.
Third time that's happened actually.

I wrote a feature in 1998 about a badass girlfriend of a dirty cop who gets her eye damaged and has to wear an eyepatch and ends up in a war against a biker gang and Indian gambling and...Quentin Tarantino made "Kill Bill". Fuck me. Then I wrote an alien invasion movie where a terrorist gang steal an AC-130 and attempt to fly it into the Pentagon, EVEN consulted the Air Force to see if that plane could make it from one side of the country to the other (can't...would need to re-fuel). Then 9/11 happened. Now...

...well, fuck.
Any way, that's the pain of being a writer and creator. Life will get in the way.

NFL Kneeling Again

As if the NFL couldn't get more stupid, the players are threatening to kneel during OUR national anthem...again.

None of them knelt anywhere else on the off-season. See how that works? No money or sponsorship for it. Too much hassle.

While it's fine to express your distaste for police brutality, you have to wonder, if this hasn't had darker consequences. For instances, Chicago, Illinois is experiencing awful violence. My guess...police aren't showing up. Why? The chances of them getting into an altercation, getting sued and losing their jobs and getting protested goes up. Now you see the repercussions. Silly how people CAN'T see what it does if you shit on the cops. Which, fine if you do...then what's the solution? Do nothing? Let criminals run amok. Because that's where they are now.

Why not kneel against gang violence? Black on Black crime? Inequity in sports pay versus teachers? That's what angers Americans. Real Americans. People like Colin Kaepernick makes this about himself. How is he not pushing more of his agenda anywhere public? Marching along side the movement he apparently started. Disappeared like an arsonist who started a fire and let it burn to his delight. Fuck Kaepernick. Loser. He was a subpar quarterback who lost his position. This isn't about inequity in treatment of the Black community, it was about him getting back into the league. Why else sue them. If I were Kaepernick, I'd say I was suing the NFL and giving the money...all of it to the community that pushes for harmonious life in the inner city of wherever the fuck he's from. THAT would get the nation behind him. Nope, this is a payday. By the way, Mark Geragos, the fucking scheister dick lawyer who thinks this is about a cause, you are a sociopath. Most defense lawyers are. They justify criminal behavior and capitalize on it. Go fucking die in a fire in your mansion built on...oh wait, you can't feel guilt. Scheister.
Any way, kneel if you want, and lose more fans. I stopped watching a lot of the games a while back. As a Cincy Bengals fan, it wasn't that hard. The fuckwad dumbshit owner Mike Brown continues to stick it to us. So fuck him. Old fuck. Kneeling or not, the players entitlement seriously has turned my gut. When I watch these players now, they seem...less like real players. They're phonies. Too many rules during game play, too many regulations as to what is a catch or helmet to helmet violence and so forth. It's because we've genetically altered ourselves so much. In all honesty, it's like watching a video game. And it's getting boring. College seems to be different. I'm sure it's not pure, but there is a purity in spirit. At least they're willing to play the facade.

Out Of Towner Hollywood

It took me this long to figure out why people want to come to Los Angeles to pursue their entertainment careers.

Wait, let me backtrack a bit...
There are a TON of people outside of Los Angeles who have made amazing films in their hometown. Ingenuity and passion created something. A TON of talent out there. "So why the fuck are you coming to Hollywood?!" I harangue openly. The bizarre thing...they've already made great films anywhere else. As you've read in my previous blogs (if you have), I repeatedly say how you can make movies anywhere, don't come to Hollywood. They look at me puzzled. I can't read their thoughts but I bet it's like when you tell a child you can't have candy.
Listen, fuckwads, you made something 80% of this town can't do. You made a movie in Po-Dunk, U.S.A. To come here, you are starting back at zero and you'll be repeatedly shat on (literally and figuratively).
Then it dawned on me...
...
...
...zzzzz....
...the point for them to come to Hollywood...
...
...is to conquer this town and prove you're the best.
See, in Po-Dunk, U.S.A. everyone IS supportive of them. Friends and family are excited that they went out and made something, but like a hot girl who gets complimented hourly, it gets old and you start hearing the same thing. To many movie-makers saying that you made it in Hollywood is something to brag about. Means you share the same Earth air as celebrities and you made a big slash in a big pond. Versus, massive shark in a puddle of water.
That's why. Wow, it never dawned on me why the industry never fully interested me. Because my hometown could care less.

Dumbass Chicago

Are we done pretending like any Leftist knows what the FUCK is going on? The poor city clocked in 70 shootings over the weekend and 8 to 11 deaths. Also, they've already passed the 300 murder mark and the year just became half way over.

THIS, people, is what happens when the Left take over. You know why this happens? The people who cater to the inner city make promises they can't keep to people they think don't understand. Guess what? They proved that theory correct. The politicians who are Left/Democrats befriend the inner city because they think they're that stupid. Get their vote, then let them kill each other off. That is sick. Think about it, in all this violence, Obama hasn't spoken about it (his hometown), Hilary...nope... They have fucked themselves royally. Also consider the other cities that are liberal...that would be Baltimore, Detroit and New York. More violence than ever. I know, the Left would probably say "in a big city there are more murders than rural areas." But they continue to break records and the Democrats continue to be in charge. Here's an idea, dump these assholes who have fucked you over because they know you HAVE to vote for them or your family disowns you. OR...keep going down the spiral.
Seems you are ready to go down with the ship, rather than admit failure. Pride fucks with you.

Fascinating Disappearance of Mollie Tibbetts

Who cares.
Really? It's a personal thing and now it's gained national attention every fucking day. Sorry for your loss but she is so dead now...it's not even funny.
I know this sounds callous but what makes her missing so much more newsworthy than anyone else. That she's a pretty White girl in rural Iowa? Or that nothing like that happens in these towns. Yeah, it's awful, but c'mon "journalist" we know the outcome. We've seen it pretty much on every damn murder mystery. What makes this so much more headlining? It's annoying. And pretty soon, there will be more asshats like me that hope she is found dead. Because then what would the news narrative be? How about this..."News and Social Didn't Do Shit to Save Her"
That would be the truth.

Urban Meyer on Ohio State Scandal

Yes, folks, Good ol' Meyer is on the hot seat for hiding or not fully disclosing the fact that his wide receiver coach Zach Smith beat his then wife. A few other details coming out, such as this happened in 2015 and that Smith is Earle Bruce's grandson. Bruce was a Buckeye head coach between 1979 and 1987. So, there's that connection.
Here's the thing...wife beating? Ladies...seriously, are we talking about "equality." Learn to fight. Now before everyone shits on me...the present course is for society to say women and can anything men can and better. Yep...this would include fighting back. Ladies, get training into self-defense. For one, keeps you in shape, secondly NEVER EVER EVER EVER be at the mercy of a man. THIS is true independence. You don't rely on men to defend you against the world. Or do you?
This would be to admit you aren't equal. Then the house falls on a weak foundation that marches for women's equality support. We're all too fearful to state this obvious thing...we aren't equal. Women are more so will not admit we aren't equal and that you do need us. Apparently in this case, Smith's wife need Urban Meyer to fire him so that he had more time to be at home to beat her more?
Sure, take a way a man's livelihood, hard to say what he's capable of.
As for Meyer, the guy has trouble around him. Aaron Hernandez was his boy in Florida. Guy seems to turn a blind eye when it comes to winning. And after the Jim Tressel issue, this is not good for Ohio State athletics. Regardless of right or wrong in terms of domestic abuse.

Incidentally, report all domestic abuse, women aren't our equals physically.

You Are Wrong

The biggest losers I know in life are the ones who don't admit they're wrong.
People who are late to events, have a strong political stance, advice on employment.
The simple truth is, these people are afraid to say they don't know everything. Unfortunately the older you get, the worse it gets. I think age is suppose to be about wisdom. So people are insecure when the older they get the less they actually know. Or want to know. I have co-workers who are in their 60's who never apologize for being wrong. OR not understanding the explanation you give then barreling through, screwing things up and then never apologizing. Should they? Not to me. But to themselves. The biggest failures in life don't understand this. They believe it's weakness to show that you have made a mistake.
This is not to say you have to take everything as your fault. Not at all. Only that you own up to things. This helps you re-evaluate and get better, as a person.
It's aggravating only that it proves some people have a cap at their learning capacity. Or worse, can't see society for any worth. That's a dangerous person. Though a healthy cynicism towards the population, it's NEVER a good idea to think you've learned all you need to learn about human behavior. I'm fascinated by the mentality of these people since they aren't too far from the people who've resigned themselves in life. They've seen enough to categorize all people. And yes, I sometimes fall into this category, but I recognize that there are people who surprise me. Some people will never be convinced. And that's a shame.

Jim Acosta and CNN Don't Know America

“Just a sample of the sad scene we faced at the Trump rally in Tampa,” Acosta wrote. “I’m very worried that the hostility whipped up by Trump and some in conservative media will result in somebody getting hurt.”

Funny Jim-Bob never said shit about covering Anti-Fa rallies or Black Lives Matter marches. All this stems from media, in this case CNN, manipulate what they want us to digest. Probably didn't realize a large amount of the Black community behind him who supported Prez Trump.
CNN, had Acost not been overrun by the ralliers would've edited so all you saw were goofy looking rednecks. Which Yahoo had no problems filtering. Yahoo is just as bad. They don't let me use terms like "schtupping" or "banging." They're getting smarter. They probably have an entire office assigned to bury most conservative thoughts. That's why people don't trust these assholes. And whilst I'm on the subject...what the fuck is Acosta saying about violence against media coming from the Conservatives. Last I checked rioting always came from the Left. Even those tiki torch carrying White supremacist didn't loot stores.
Fuck Yahoo and CNN in their Leftist hole.
