I'm sure it's more likely that they think they can make better music. Which I'm down with. Anything BUT using a sample from 70's music and rapping under it. I'll stand by my opinion...rap isn't music. It's talkng fast in a rhythm. Putting a cool melody underneath that makes it someone else's fucking song. So fuck you rappers.
Also, Kanye and other Black folk got upset Taylor Swift won album of the year last year, or something. So this year it went to Bruno Mars. Maybe we can work our way up to Nelly. Or someone so Black they're purple. That's the problem with these shows. It's not fucking B.E.T. 2.0 it's supposedly...a music award. Instead, it feels like we're babysitting children who can't for a minute feel slighted.
Asians never won any of this shit. So you can draw two conclusions with that...1) we suck at music (which is grossly untrue, since we're forced to play piano and violin)...2) music really doesn't control our worlds and if people don't like our shit...move forward. Instead of fucking whining until you're handed something you didn't earn.
Rap isn't music is my point.
