Zero Quit

THE Ohio State Buckeyes (6) played Penn State (2) last night, and what looked to be a horrific melt down by the Buckeyes, resulted in a 4th quarter comeback we haven't seen in a LONG time. Buckeyes slid by Penn State 39-38. In one of the most exciting football game in years.

It also shook up the college football world since TCU lost to...Oklahoma Sooner killer, Iowa State?

Yes folks, we're in the meat of the run to college football greatness. That doesn't require you take a knee, or whatever
The comeback was one of the greatest I've ever seen in my life. What went wrong for the Buckeyes throughout the game (horrible officiating aside), turned for them during the last 15 minutes and solidified this team's lore in college football history. They never quit, and that's a great lesson.

HOWEVER, the other lesson is this... to win the war, you can lose the battle.
The one thing I absolutely hate about college football is the..logistics.
Ohio State lost in week 2 to Oklahoma Sooners. Sooners went on to lose to an unranked team. Collectively, if they were to play again, I'm not sure the result would be the same. They implemented the playoff system to clear this up. Which did nothing but put it into the hands of a select few. Who STILL have to weigh a lot of logistics. The simple thought is this...what is YOUR gut feeling about who could play against each other. Or what would create the most drama when everything comes out in the wash?

They will NEVER do away with the ranking system. But my proposal is that they really seriously watch the games. I know, it's a TON of work. But, it really tells a real story. For instance, even though the Buckeyes pulled off this victory, Penn State looked...really great. Trace McSorley (QB) and Saquon Barkley (RB) looked amazing. McSorley looked crisp in his throws and he had the pocket presence to go up against a Georgia team. Or Notre Dame. I would DEFINITELY love to watch this year Penn State v. Notre Dame. Or Alabama take on Notre Dame. Or Notre Dame and Clemson. These are intuitively just fun games I've love to watch. Or Oklahoma and Notre Dame.
And yes, I know...the combinations are endless. But once it gets to the four team playoff, do we really want to see Oregon take on Alabama (remember that year?).
Then again, would we ever have considered Clemson had it not been for coach Dabo Swinney's rise?
