Obama’s religious statement is sort of…um…dumb.
He calls on God to put into our hearts the good will
towards...refugees? I’m not sure this is the right platform to shill for his
stance on this issue. Only that we are suspicious of Muslims these days. Not
that we dislike/hate/have hate for Muslims. A lot of us wouldn’t even know a
Muslim if we saw one. An American one anyway. Women are easier to identify. But
it seems so bush league to rely on our own faith to prove to the world we are
open minded. Listen asshole, some of us don’t give a shit about God. I’m not
sure he does either. But to pander like he does is pretty transparent.
I put it in this perspective, I believe he thinks religious
people are dumb enough to reach down to their own faith and bow to humanity.
Dumbass. People lynch people over religion. The fuck do you think you’re
suggesting to these zealots? Do you think they’d change their minds because you
cater to their beliefs? Fuck no. In fact, they’d more likely double down.
I get why you had to say what you said. You’re betting these
people really are bible thumpers and that you’d be accusing them of hypocrisy.
I agree we should take the higher ground, but there is turning the other cheek,
and being complete fools.
Not sure what Obama hoped to have gained by asking Americans
to accept refugees. These are the same folk who are terrorist. Not that they
are all terrorist, but why even open that avenue? Is it worth risking American
lives? It’s not enough to implement a risk and throw your hands up when bad
things happen. I get that we have domestic terrorist as well. That’s a lot of
mental health issues. We’re talking about an ideology. Mental illness isn’t
contagious. Martyrdom is.
