One of the buzziest news today is of Beyonce renouncing the police, calling for them to "stop shooting us." In reference to cops killing Black folk.
I have no problems with Beyonce's music, nor her message. But to take a big stage like that and claim some serious things is pretty lame. The irony being that her security detail is...well, off-duty cops.
The other thing about her stance, is the Black Panther affiliation. I'm certain I am wrong, but last I checked that was a terrorist organization. The dancers in the Super Bowl show clearly flexed this look. She can backpedal at this point all she wants, there isn't a White dancer in that group. And it shouldn't matter. Which is the point. The Academy Awards not having a Black nominee for acting, and Blacks boycotting, seems to be the same about Super Bowl and Whites. Are they participants and are they represented? Who cares? It will be debated though.
Pretty sure we can't go one Super Bowl without some controversy. And it happens on the lamest boring-est one...from what I've read so far.
