Was it a colossal waste of time?

None of this proved how much you hated The Orange One. Only that you didn't want to miss an event. And that you could post you were there. It really illustrates the sickening narcissism that is our lives today. And of course this travels abroad. Attention seeking losers, screaming how this was a victory. Begging to be taken seriously. Nope.
See you forget...you're asking someone you assume already doesn't have your best interest at heart.
Take heart though...the president works for us. He is our employee. People are overeacting over nothing and has, in fact, galvanized Trump supporters even more.
