Ed Sheeran Sued For Song

In the news today!
Song singer Ed Sheeran is sued by Matt Cardle over a hit song. Looking for $20 million. Will most likely settle for less. The same lawyer that represented Marvin Gaye's family over the "Blurred Lines" thing. Got $5 million and change over it. So expect about the same.

I didn't hear either songs. But my take on this is...if litigation was as rampant as it is today about creative shit...Beatles would be fucked. As would the Rolling Stones. The reason you rarely see these guys be taken to task. For now. The issue is that lawyers are salivating to make money like this. What's to do but cross a few T's and dot an I. The rest is listening to tunes and comparing. The precedent has already been set. And had Cardle not have written hit songs in the past for other artists, this would be a larf. Incidentally...what common sense is there to steal from someone who is already a published writer. Also, the fuck is this guy doing on "X-Factor" when it should be a show about amateurs.

Is this news? I guess. Even though the music business is garbage now. You know, he could just settle and then keep using that song to tour with. I think it's worth it, considering the dough you make having it on your playlist. Hand out/payoff or not, it seems to be a pretty fair price.
