Dan came out a few weeks ago to promote the new all-female "Ghostbusters" reboot. The director Paul Feig has come out in defense of the project. Hating on nerds who loved the originals so much. The originals aren't all that great. So I've got no beef with it being remade, but for Aykroyd to come out and totally bullshit people into how much better it is than the original. Since he was the writer on that, he gets residuals STILL.
The "created by" credit is the money maker. Most people fight through the court system to have their names on it. Even if the movie is awful, if it does well, they continue to make money. In Aykroyd's case, this is FREE money. So why wouldn't he be shilling his hardest?
This all sucks. Feig's arrogance (as I've mentioned in the past) is confusing, considering he's really a nebbish dude.
