The story of Elliot Rodgers is a strange one.
Elliot was a 22 year old kid from a town called Isla Vista.
His father was a British guy who had been an assistant director/director,
mid-wig in Hollywood. His mother a Malaysian woman. He had very deep Asian
features. Squinting my already squinty eyes already…he could resemble my
nephew. What is known as a “hapa” child. A Hawaiian term indicating a person of
mixed heritage. These people, to me, are the most beautiful. Eurasians just
have a sophisticated look. Like a painting. Black and Euro seems to generate a
similar chiseled sculpture look. Cherubic. I think it has to do with having the
sharp jawline of a Euro with the anti-aging of being Asian.
Anyway, this guy murdered 6 people on one fateful night. All students at UC Santa Barbara.
Three happened to be his roommates and a friend visiting that day. The others,
a drive-by shooting that took down people who were just hanging out. Then he
took his own life.
What’s strange is WHY he did it. To be honest, we’ll never
know for sure. Nor is it even worth it to profile. We’re now at a point where
anyone can do anything at anytime. We just don’t have preventative profiling to
stop someone who is Hell bent on destruction. Sick, sad and true. But his
reasoning is that he was way too beautiful for the people who’ve rejected him.
Yes, this dude (much like the L.A. Fitness gym rat murderer) felt he was being rejected
by women.
This really bugs me. For one, I doubt any girl really
rejected him. And if they did, it’s because he was so fucking weird. NOT
because he wasn’t an attractive guy. To look at him, you’d think thousands of
girls would hurl themselves at him. Rich, good looking. In his mind, he wasn’t
white. In his mind, he wasn’t good enough. In his mind, the people he thought
who were inferior who supposedly rejected him had to die. And this, his opinion of people like me:
"Full Asian men are disgustingly ugly and white girls would never go for
you. You're just butthurt that you were born as an asian piece of shit,
so you lash out by linking these fake pictures. You even admit that you
wish you were half white. You'll never be half-white and you'll never
fulfill your dream of marrying a white woman. I suggest you jump off a
bridge"
And it wasn’t random. He targeted couples, a sorority house,
and pretty blondes. Most of the victims were just strolling along the street.
Unaware of this monster.
Prior to this…what few knew, was that he had already
purchased two guns and 400 rounds of ammunition. The police had investigated
him shortly after a YouTube video had been made which amounted to a manifesto.
According to his father, he was great at lying and charming people, to which he
used to get the police off his case. They left. And, in a released journal
entry, Elliot had written that had the police taken a few more steps into his
home, they would’ve spotted his guns and the plan would’ve imploded. There
would be 7 people alive.
Now, I’m not sure how to process this, but I feel a certain
level of sadness that it took just that little amount of extra police work to
halt a tragedy. But, this is the same amount of privacy a few in this country
feel are invaded. Had the police felt they COULD pressure to search due to
probably cause, there would be people alive today. A lot of people have to live
with their opinion on this. And it’s not going to be the victims. Fortunately,
it’s not up to me.
