Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez overcame a significant deficit in the polls to defeat U.S. Rep. Joseph Crowley in the party’s primary for the 14th Congressional District seat.
She is 28 years old. That's pretty bad ass. because I didn't give a shit about anything but boozing at 28. That said, she's a Socialist Democrat. Hmm...how does that function in a Democratic Republic. Because, last I checked socialism doesn't work. Cuba bailed. It DOESN'T work because you are essentially discounting human achievement.
The one thing that separates us from monkeys is innovation. This does not thrive in a socialist society because there is no incentive. Yes, I agree, no one should live poor, but you have people who are, when wanting to do more, do less or equivalent to the person who won't do anything. In other words, you drag everyone down to that level AND our society collapses. Socialism, in theory, is kind, compassionate and moralistically good, BUT people have and will take advantage of it. They are now. We see people in the medical field not going above and beyond for their patience. Because they don't care about finding out the problem. It's a numbers game. That's what socialized medicine causes. Unfortunately, that lends itself to the idea that only the rich get health care. I would rephrase to people who can afford. And the trick is to make it affordable. I know there is a balance in there somewhere. And it's not universal health care. Why do you think we have an opioid epidemic. Throw painkillers at people and let them fend for themselves.
So, while it's great this chick beat out some old Dem dude. I'm not sure she understands fully what's about the drop from the sky on top of her. She is WAY over her head. But I'm glad this at least lights a fire to get something new going. Good luck, kid.
