I don't agree with her actions, but I wholeheartedly understand her position.
Korryn Gaines is a 23 year old woman with a child. Police arrived on a bench warrant for her arrest, which...if you read between the lines, it meant being taken away from her child. She got into a gunfight...over traffic violations. And now she's dead.
The question is this...the fuck are police doing shooting at a woman and kid? Now, a lot of stories will most likely come out. Most likely, what is a woman doing with a gun shooting at cops? How about she doesn't want to be arrested and taken away from her kid. It's pretty simple. If they stopped to think about it. Now, I'm not sure how threatened the police felt, but attempting to arrest a woman for speeding or whatever, and then her ending up dead is...I have no idea what to call it. Yes, she's dumb as fuck for firing on police (as they are edgy as Hell) but there is a level of common sense. This isn't the Crips you're fucking with.
Anyway, the point is, Ms. Gaines probably understood the garbage that is the justice system. And unfortunately, those who've never been through the grinder have no clue what it means. It's laborious, torture. And I was only on the jury! I can't imagine what it would mean to a Mother. Let's get some brains, cops. Please.
Oh, the solution? Back away and talk. Even after shots fired. Back the fuck away. Return fire likely means death. Consider it a Mama Bear protecting its cub.
