I know y'all gonna say, it's not that big a deal BUT...according to Box Office Mojo with a budget of $144 million brought in close to $120 million with all the hate...I gotta say...that's pretty good. They even got better critics reviews than part 2. But alas, with terrible box office means an end to this franchise hopes. Maybe. Who knows. The rights do go to Ivan Reitman now. He can sit on it and laugh to the bank. Not a bad deal for him.
Everyone got paid but Sony lost money. Was it worth the gamble? Not really. They knew something like this is corny to try, but the bleeding wasn't too bad.
Again, I think this will go down as a mis-fire...like trying to remake a shot by shot "Psycho"
