Made in 2014 and released at the tail end of 2015...
“Shaun The Sheep” is so unapologetically adorable, you will
be unable to NOT enjoy your time watching it. It’s cutesy without being
annoying, and fun. The story is simple, but the journey, not so much. And there
isn’t any dialogue.
Anyone who wants to get into making movies should watch
movies like this. The visuals tell the story.
It begins on the mundane world of sheep herding. Wake up,
get ready for the day, wash, rinse, repeat. Shaun, the title character is tired
of this daily ritual. One day he is inspired to “take a day off.” To which he
enlists the help of the other sheep in the flock to dupe The Farmer. When an
accident occurs, in which The Farmer inadvertently travels to “The Big City”
The sheep and the sheepdog set off to get The Farmer back.
Please watch this movie. This should be shared with family
as it won’t get irritating on repeat views (as something like “Inside Out”
would…with the color alone). This is the same fun you have with most Nick Park
productions have (“Wallace and Grommet”). It’s on the same level of cuteness
and innovative storytelling.
I love this flick.
