Do you guys remember Brett Butler?
She was that actress that was on a show called "Grace Under Fire" about a blue collar Southern girl trying to raise her children. I stumbled across this show again, and...it's pretty good. Brett is very natural. Smooth in her delivery. Little did I know she was battling alcohol and drug addiction.
Today, she's doing a little stand-up around L.A. and spent some time in a homeless shelter.
You want to know the insanity of Hollywood...this was a successful show created by Chuck Lorre. Why does that name sound familiar to you?
He also was the center of the meltdown of Charlie Sheen on "Two And A Half Men."
Who is the common denominator here? Possibly digging up wrecked celebrities to be in t.v. shows? Or is it that the business wrecks you? Now a lot would argue that we only do what we want to do and we have no one to blame but ourselves for bad behavior. Completely agree. As a fellow drunk, I am responsible for terrible behavior. But you can't ignore the facts. Two very successful series, two celebrity meltdowns and one producer. The only difference to Sheen, was that he was actually smart to walk away with millions. And implode on his own time. Butler seemed to have done it behind the scenes during the series.
I think her story is pretty fascinating, considering how far you can fall from the top of the hill. And how much you can survive through. If you just step away from Hollywood for a little bit.
She also claims to have been a psychic her whole life and charges 50 clams for readings. She’s a nut bag, Bro. Always has been, always will be.
ReplyDeleteHahaha! she could've predicted her future.
