There's been some grousing about all the actors/actresses being white this year. Caucasian.
Can you name the last Asian to win for acting? I can't. But I don't care.
So this whole thing about complaining that white folk award other white folk is stupid. If you care. And you shouldn't. Because you should really care about why there aren't more finding cures to cancer. But, entertainment...yes ENTERTAINMENT gets the brunt of this garbage.
If you want to go down that route, maybe we, as technicians should wonder why a Mexican is kicking our asses in filmmaking. Does anyone else care? Nope. Because he's making movies people respond to. So if opportunities aren't given to minorities, then make your own. We can't make rules to someone else's game. And complaining just makes us look spoiled.
I bet there are going to be a lot of jokes in regards to this. A non-issue is just good debate fodder. But it's really about why our own don't make more opportunities. Keep in mind, the Razzies...the worst movies of the year, were dominated by white folk too.
