..to Black people.
See what I did there? You probably thought I was going to
say he was racist towards White people. But he’s racist towards Blacks. This
isn’t about being misrepresented in the eyes of Hollywood. To me, it seems it’s
about him being top of the mountain, and he will remain there…with the White
folk. Why? By claiming movies to lack diversity, the next step would be for
stupid Hollywood to counter ten fold. Everything has Black people in it. Black
guy owns a Chinese restaurant. Black guy is mandatory as President. Black guy
is doctor, bank manager…it’s like some sort of “They Live” but without glasses.
Guess what Will Smith does? Sweeps up all the White roles. See, this mofo is
already established in the 10’s of millions club. As a non-threatening honorary
White dude. Politically speaking, he threw the scraps to the desperate dogs
(and out here there is ZERO borders to desperate folk) and took the biggest pie
for himself. Just like he was accused of by Aunt Viv in that response to the
Oscar boycott. He got his deal, they got theirs. Why not? He was delivered
massive failures recently, but…he still got paid.
You know where true diversity lacks in Hollywood that NO ONE
ever brings up? (I find this the MOST racist of all). Post production or
research/development. In the 30+ years of watching the Oscars, there hasn’t
been a Black guy/girl/transgender who has ever accepted an award for technical
achievement. I’m not saying it didn’t happen. I’m saying where is the outrage
there? And it comes down to this…Black people want to be “out there” with a
message. To silently accomplish something…it seems doesn’t push a message. The
louder, the angrier, the better. Yes, technical work is secondary to the
spotlight. But you’re really pushing the agenda that Blacks can only
sing/dance/act. If that is the agenda, so be it. Dave Chappelle was at least
honest about it when he said his message for inner city youth was they better
get to playing ball or dancing. Instead of this being the message for diversity
in…science and tech, they focus on acting awards. Never mind, Steve McQueen, a
black director made Best Picture “12 Years A Slave” Blacks were pissed he
didn’t win Best Director. The youngest
director ever to be nominated for Best Director was also Black (John
Singleton).
So this whole thing about diversity in Hollywood, isn’t
diversity. It’s a specific Black agenda, and Hollywood painted themselves into
a corner they have to leap out of.
For the many actors who are toiling in the trenches and
faced rejection without skin color being the issue, you’re in for a bumpier
ride. You can no longer be rejected because you’re not right for the role. We
just have to find the Black equivalent of you.
Will Smith needs to man up and use his money to fund Black
movies. Which in a sense he has. And got burned. But that is the sacrifice. You
have to bleed your own blood before you can ask others to do the same. As it
were, he’s crippled Black Hollywood, but insisting they change their awards
dynamic. Who fucking cares? Half these awful movies that were nominated last
year didn’t do shit for the world. The irony is that he wants this industry to
pat him on the back. You can’t ask people to congratulate you. He’s earned many
accolades from his peers. Which further supports my statement, how racist he is
to Black people.
