In my past, we've always were insulated by America. And its borders. The Democratic Left or "liberals" see the world as the borders. This is foolish. And emotionally stunted. NOT because America wasn't founded on immigration (legal). But because when people did come here they wanted to make it better. And not send money to their country in hopes of retiring there. My Dad was the same way. He'd always had one foot back in Taiwan. Proud of being from the country. Though he didn't rally a parade into the street or even care there was a month dedicated to Asian pride. That wasn't America.
One of the criticisms that most likely sunk Hillary Clinton and the Democrats (aside from buying the nomination) was that she is a part of globalism. That we would be one world nation. Culturally speaking, we don't function like that. Though there are pockets of people in America that want that. Why wouldn't you if you come from a corrupt country. That's how America became world police. And continues to run into opposition because we have to regulate the peace of the world, but under their rules. Conversely, they feel they also want to guide us with their rules. Yep.
When a country feels so guilt ridden and remorseful under the scrutiny of world stage, they lose a lot of their teeth and seem like an old bear stumbling around in the forest (Germany). Though they keep their status as a financial powerhouse, politically speaking, they're spineless. And allow hostile countries to take advantage of this. And this is the country we want open because the Left don't want children left at the border. Notice I didn't say separated, since these childrens' parents most likely aren't even at the border with them.
We need to allow our government to function without daily harassment. I said it with Obama's administration, though I didn't agree with it. And I'm saying with Trump's. I don't mean unchecked, because clearly he is under the microscope because he beat the system. He wasn't a career politician. Which is something I THOUGHT we would all get behind. But now the Left is jumping on that bandwagon...and here it was in 2018 that I realized the Democrats are no longer the cool kids at the party who thought outside the box.
