In a letter, actually romantically written by Tupac...it states that the reason he wanted to break up was because of the people who got him where he got to. In other words, the Black community would turn their backs on him. You can see this as racist or not, it's still kinda'...sad. Because he valued his career over love (or lust). Well, it's sad if you come from a painfully romantic place that it should conquer all.
The business brain in all of us say the same thing. Now if we flip the script and say what if Madonna had dumped Tupac due to his image would be a detriment to Madonna's career? In 1990's I think people would just shrug...yep. In 2017 people would burn her records and her mannequin in effigy.
Yes, peeps, we've gotten MUCH more intolerant. Like we've swung back so hard on not looking like bigots we've become bigger bigots, which admit it or not, most of the world is at this moment. The only thing putting a spotlight in our own race issues is because we broadcast our shit. China is racist as fuck, they don't broadcast. Trust me, NONE of their people would be social justice anything. And in case you think it's a communist thing, Spain promotes doing slanty-eyed gestures as a sign of...God knows what? This misplaced anger directed at America is laughable.
These two kept their relationships really undercover. Maybe B.E.T. knew, as a Black friend had mentioned. So, maybe Whitey just just kept out which validates Tupac's claim in the letter.
The best part...Tupac still wanted to be friends with her.
