There Are No More Movie Stars

I had an amazing discussion with a young man who seemed to want to get into movie making but then added that there is no more purpose in doing so. His influences happened to be people who seemed to be more otherwordly, people like Stanley Kubrick or Antonioni. These were somewhat Gods of cinema. I'm sure during their time, they were seen as solid filmmakers, who stood out from their peers. Can you name someone today who you could say that about? Does anyone stand out? Perhaps Denis Villenueve, Christopher Nolan or Quentin Tarantino? He seems to be doing larger cinematic films. Seems we are starved for filmmaking heroes. I think the issue is that we have democratized media. Everyone now grows up with a camera in their faces and a camera in their pocket. Anyone and everyone can do it. So if that is the case, what makes you so special? In that sense, there are no more Gods. Which extends to movie stars. There aren't any. You have people that are in movies. But if you saw them in person, you wouldn't hold the same reverence as you would...say...Humphrey Bogart. I think there is a lack of respect for the craft. We don't hold much of that with the same importance we use to. Why would we? Everyone has a YouTube channel. Or get their popularity through social media. Everyone is a personality. And thus Hollywood has died. It is a shame because I recall it being so great to see artists strive for their craft, meticulously study it and make brilliant stories. As of now, not much.

Why Does Acting Suck Now

Everyone complains how awful acting in these days. Though they look back at the movies of the 80's an 90's and think we were so quaint. I have a few reasons. Because we need so much content now, writers have no time to write. That means dialogue falls to the wayside. Ideas are great, writing is bad. Actors now all subscribe to mumbling their lines. Now, I'm not saying it has to be the theatrical arena of acting. But cinema was meant to be conveying words to people. When they speak in whispers, they may seem to think that is real, but how often do you speak in whispers. Or mumble. That isn't acting, it's using a device to seem more earnst. Bad! Speaking of time, no one really has the time to make anything of quality anymore. They need content. They don't care where that content comes from but it better be fast. That means people don't take time to get things right in rehearsals. Everything costs a lot, mostly...time. Time is super expensive. Actors are stretched thin. The thing about movie stars is that they have to be in the spotlight so they don't get the early curtain call. You ever stop to think what happened to your favorite actors in the past? If they don't do back to back projects you think they retired. That gives actors not much time to figure out what the story is. It really trickles down. Bad writing, bad content, bad acting. Bad directing is another reason. The studios love to hire based on race or sex. I agree that there should be no barriers to whom should get to direct a movie. BUT when you specifically go out to hire that person the well is pretty thin. Typically they'll find the newest hottest director on the independent circuit. Then surround them with (somewhat) experienced people. Yeah, it looks and feels like a movie, but something is still missing. A mentonship program is much more effective. Actors also don't seem to care anymore. I get it though...the ones on the lower tier are desperate to make a mortgage or rent. So they do anything and everything. Regardless of whether or not they care about the material. If enough people turned down roles because they are so poor, soon real writers would step up their game. All we did was lower the bar. And it became "it's good enough" Now, I understand...acting is somewhat subjective. Good acting or bad acting. And a lot most definitely comes from content. But I am now REALLY aware of poor acting. I watch mainstream movies recently and am baffled how some roles seem so miscasted. That's another thing, shoehorning a up and coming name into the role. Even though they are completely wrong. Cultivating an onscreen personality os bigger than you realize. But no one seems to care. We fix this, we get better stories.

You Don't Like Biden, You Hate Trump

The transportation secretary (snicker) disappeared for 2 months during one of the worst times for transport of goods and prices were going up. And no one noticed. "The Woman King" - Law of Low Expectations

I will probably go see this movie because I like Viola Davis and it feels like another "Braveheart" Which I love inaccurate historical flicks of revenge. There's been much said about the falsehoods this movie portrays. Honestly, I think that's what the trailer is trying to do. This movie opened in over 4000 theaters. You think it wasn't going to make some money? Perhaps. But, if you think about it, it is REALLY low for a $50 million investment. Why aren't media mocking it as needing to make triple that to be considered success. Because the problem with Lefties is that it requires them to have low expections for Brown and Black people. Essentially, if you are a Democrat you are a racist. Racist don't know they're racist. They hide it under the guise of good will. Patronizing Black and Brown people isn't racism. You wouldn't treat your fellow White's with the same kid gloves. Being treated equal in life is about listening. And as I reiterated time and time again, no one listens. I do give an advantage to the Midwesterner. Since I consider myself one. I listen intently. Not to gather information but because you should be fascinated by people. Most people have banal conversations. Debate is a give and take. Any way, the fact that this movie is a 95% on that aggregate review site is vomitously funny. Even "Braveheart" had its detractors. Disney Is Determined To Blacken Everything

IMDB Sucks Ass

I did a review on IMDB on "Prey" First off, FUCK YOU, IMDB. The only reason you exist is to take the goodwill of people who work in the movie business. You are a parasite who lives off others. And information. OPEN information. And they took down my review. For what reason? I started the review with "Ask yourselves, if you weren't progressive would any of this movie make sense?" Some shaved head he/she probably thought this was too aggressive. Fucking idiots. It was a fair review of a spineless movie. Now, I could preface it with "well, look it's a movie" But since Disney+ and Hulu own this material, they didn't want to rock their boat. Therefore, this piece of shit garbage flick sits at a 7.2 rating. Sure. At some point these morons at these media pages are going to have to wise up that controlling people's tastes through censorship will backfire. There are other places people can go to express their viewpoint. In this case, this blogger site (which may be taken down as well). It's not so much they took it down, it's that it took them some time to do so. As if some person with an obvious agenda filtered it out as incendiary. Nope, it told the truth about the movie through my perspective. So they don't want dissenting voices. This is what fascism actually is. And though it seems petty that a stupid movie page does this, ask yourself why they felt the need to do it, if it wasn't that important. The paradox. Grow a fucking spine. I didn't swear in the review and I gave valid points. That wasn't good enough. "Prey"

So, 20th Century Fox...er...Disney recently and quietly slipped by a "Predator" prequel called "Prey" Now streaming on Hulu and Disney+. I've not seen it but the back and forth of it being taking place 300 years ago and how a little Indian girl can kill a Predator (yah, right...it's not a spoiler here) with just the most basic of weapons. The concept is fantastic. Get back to the basics. Hunter vs. Hunter. Except it's a tiny girl who is, apparently peeved that she isn't taken seriously as a hunter. Now, the gripe from one side is that Hollywood is really stretching reality with a young girl taking down Predator thing. The other side just bashes on the people who can't get past that reality, instead of...you know...defending the case that a tiny girl can defeat a Predator. You know what bugs me? In the trailer it has her cowering in fear and nearly taken out by a bear when she is saved by a Predator. Surely she would've died had the Predator not been there. Later, she kills the Predator. Yup. Eye roll. Good ol' tough gal Pocahontas, Mary Sue's her way onto the leaderboard. I also noticed that anyone who questions the reality of it bases it on how one side doesn't like women leads. That's stupid. Everyone loves Ellen Ripley. Or Sarah Connor. Or any horror movie with a final girl. But even those movies knew modern vs. modern is the answer. You dumbasses who think we don't like women leads are massively retarded dinks who are trying to look like a feminist so ugly women will bang you. Speaking of which, I heard the Predator likes to probe things. You can be...uh huh...The Prey.

Speaking Of Time...

...I do NOT forgive when it comes to squandering my time. The balls on some people. Had a friend who thought I was on her schedule. Cut her loose. I'm infinitely more important than her. That thought alone infuriates me that she even considered her life much more valuable when I did her a favor. These are the types you deal with in Hollywood. Lack of self-awareness substance abusers. And then the fallout from that was even more laughable. Statements like "you know when I say 20 minutes I take 40 minutes" Again, moron, I am NOT on your schedule. When I tell you to be somewhere at a certain time and you are late, you have no excuses. We are in Los Angeles, if you can't plan accordingly you will suffer at life. Wake the fuck up. My life is more important than yours if you ask any favor of me. I will continue to say that until it gets through your thick skull. If you are starting out, these are the dues you pay. You are the peon and run when you're told.

Your Time Is Not Important - Respect For Others Are

The thing with this business comes down to this: IF someone is doing you a favor, you are no longer on YOUR time you are on THEIR time. Get it through your thick fucking skull. And also check your ego. What irks me more than anything is when people take advantage of this. It goes like this...typically a hot girl will take forever to get ready. The longer they are late, the hotter they think they are. One day, those looks fade, and they will be left in the dark. Fitting. To me, I respect anyone's time. Especially if they are giving you their time. Anyone who does that is valuable beyond words. To many, they don't care. They will march at their own schedule. It is a poor way to go about life. And usually, they are losers at life. Listless without ambition. Or failures in grand ways. If you are to navigate life, you are to see others' time much more valuable to your own. Conversely, not allow others to continue to use you for it. For time is the only thing we have and MUCH more valuable than money. It is also a work ethic. Never be late. Consider others or learn life the hard way. You will lose many people in life this way.

Film Screenings

I hate them. Especially festivals. They are interminably boring. With vapid people who believe they have a future in this industry. Cynical? Yeah. They may find success in small doses. But, generally, it starts to sound like nails on a chalkboard when they start pitching you. The banal conversation is probably why this girl I'm seeing didn't want to go to MY screening. Yes...I got stood up. And it took me a while to process why. She ended up spending time with her friends that night. Which is fine. And you may be asking "if she cared about you, she would endure the crap of Hollywood" That is the problem. She doesn't care about me. Typical of this industry really. Personal relationships are a liability. She was a failed choreographer for music videos, commercials and so forth. Failure means you hate everyone who tries. I had thought the same. Which is why I dreaded the screening. I don't want to hear pitches, hopes or dreams. Instead, what she missed out on was...good vibes. NO ONE was there to shop their "vision" or talk shop. They were there to support. What she missed out on was people just being people. I get why she didn't show. But her disgust for the Hollywood schmoozers would've been in vain. Much like my own. Last night's screening was the schmoozers. This was probably more typical. Industry people make my stomach turn, to be honest. They speak in an odd language which only they can understand. After a while it would nauseate any human being.

Monkeypox

Lately, the present idiot in the White House and his cronies can't bring themselves to announce that sweet sweet gay sex is the cause of monkeypox. Even though it's the next pandemic. The fact that this admin wants to conceal ANY news to this means some may suffer. You can't tell gays not to do perverted shit as much as perverts. And yes, gays are fucking anomalies. Users

I've been seeing this girl who use to choreograph dance in music vids and also model. I asked to come to my film screening and she declined. I was a little pissed but, her explanation was simple. The entertainment business is full of users. That thought has always occurred to me, but never did I articulate it. It is the reason why I always feel so nauseous after making a film because there are a few things that you don't consider when you make film projects. See, the original idea is that you just want to make "cool shit with your friends" But this is also a business. In that business, people still have to live. The balance is between your personal projects and peoples' time. If you don't compensate them with money, you have to give them material to make money. To me, I always felt sick because I paid people so low. Now you may say "well, they agreed to low pay or no pay" That is user talk. Users permeate this business like a cancer. I am a user. You are a user. If you work in the movie business you will become a user and not even realize it. Why? Because you have passion and you can't see what you are doing in order to get what you want. People outside of Hollywood sense this. That sickening feeling you have for pushing forward with your projects is a journey in which you will always be using people. The longer you're in, the more this feeling piles up. IF you have any conscience. And therein lies the problem. At a certain point, if you don't have any self-awareness, you can move forward knowing you are making art. And justify your behavior. In the end, you are just using people to get what you want. This should haunt you. But, after a while, you make excuses as to why this is justified. Things like "you're helping their career" or "we're all in this together" may comfort your guilty thoughts. But after years of this, you do start to feel some uneasy feeling as this is wrong. It was fine when you are just starting out. But the ability to hustle makes you better at it. Which isn't necessarily a good thing. A used car salesman who has decades under his belt has no use for a conscience when he tells himself he needs to support his family. Same with a scheisty lawyer. They can soothe their conscience by saying things like "everyone gets a defense." This will drain your humanity pretty quickly. So what is the solution? I have none. This is the levels in which you will have to decide. Most will press forward because they have a story to tell and nothing will stand in their way. Good people don't survive in this business for that reason. I've been here for 20+ years. Toiling and taking stock in this behavior. And, it sickens me deeply to feel that my conscience is questioning it. It creeps up, grabs you, then you can't stop. I often use the term "dragging a dead body up a hill" This phrase is used to be that when you make movies, most people are the dead bodies you have to move up mountains because you think you can still save them. Dead weight is also anchoring you down. You must inspire and move. In war terms, bringing back dead bodies is the honorable move. In movie terms, it could kill you as well. Good people understand the user. They don't want to be involved nor do they want to be sucked into it. Once you get a belly full, especially if you are on the receiving end of being used, the idea of going back to making movies leaves a bad taste in your mouth. No one needs to be remind how the movie industry chews you up and spits you out. Have dignity.

Losing Friends In Hollywood

You have no friends in Hollywood. Only people you use you for the purposes you allow them to use you. As cynical as it may sound, people in this business are gypies who aren't looking at your best interest. They are looking to move ahead, or survive. Sad as it may seem, the closer you get to someone, the more they can injure you deeply. You ever wonder why people keep a healthy distance between each other, it's because it's best not to know too much and best not to share too much. For the most part, everyone is also connected. So when you're this entwined into each others world, it's near impossible to get out of a "relationship" unscathed. A lot can pretend things don't bother them. But everyone will eventually bother you. I keep my distance where I can. Every once in a while you do get the person who can't help but integrate themselves into your life. A ball of energy. But then yank it away like they're a drug. Thing is, I get this now, when you have spent more life in this business than learning about the business, you develop an ego. You're experience in your field allows you to have a smidge of arrogance. When newbies don't listen or listen to others who have less experience. You tend to get defensive. Why engineers are so pissed off all the time. No one listens to them and everyone thinks they know better. This is the cycle of Hollywood. Hard to say if it exists in any other working relationship. I'm sure it does. Being dis-respected in this business is the worst. Being used is horrible as well. When all you want to do is make cool things. There are opportunists at every entry point. James Caan R.I.P.

What a career. I mean hothead Sonny Corleone is brilliance. As what he did in "Misery" Some say it wasn't too far from his personality. But it's hard to gauge James Caan other than to say, he wasn't traditionally handsome but still had an amazing career. That is what is missing in cinema. Real dudes who look like dudes. I recall many stories of his furious behavior. Hard cocaine lifestyle. The guy hung out at the Playboy mansion. So it wasn't like he was a saint. But, that was when men could be men. I suspect as he got older, he suffered less fools. Especially in interviews. He played a lot of strange roles as well. The villain in "Eraser" comes to mind. He was an oddball that Hollywood will miss. Or don't know they will miss. He was 82 and lived a pretty damn cool life leaving an awesome legacy. Perhaps he was the Steve McQueen predecessor.

Women In It For Other Women?

There's been a huge push to include more women into the forefront of filmmaking. I've always been a champion of that, and was rather curious why that wasn't always the case. Women pick up language quicker in men. And have a clearer vocabulary when it comes to emotions. Though they lack certain logic skills, movies weren't built on logic. They were built on emotions. Very few people know movie making was dominated by women of the past. Then when it started making money, dudes took that shit. It didn't change much. It's just that under-reporting female contribution to Hollywood became a thing. Then it became that you were too afraid to go against the feminist. But what these people didn't really know, and will never admit, is that women subjugated other women in Hollywood. As the old saying goes "women would rule the world, if they didn't hate each other" Again, with emotion, women tend not to be adjusted for that. The ones who did break through seemed to have acted like men. Sherry Lansing and Amy Pascal to name a couple of heavy hitters. They played in the perceived "Man's world" They were just as guilty of being shallow and market savvy as men. They would (and had to) guide a film based on public tastes. And most wanted beautiful young people. The risk they took to cast older people that no one wanted to see were outliers. And they knew it. They knew things like...once a woman gives birth to a child, she is no longer seen as sexy. They knew it. And they were women. Because, they too, are financially responsible. This obviously created a dead spot inside them that which exists in most nurturing women. Their sense of timing (except when going to a social event) is impeccable. I think they have better rhythm them men. Pacing, and emotional manipulation. They are better than men in this regard. So, why the talk of women being underrepresented? Because if they didn't, women wouldn't have anything to nag about.

Rowing Versus Wading

"Growing Pains" Can Teach You Something About Our Business

If you've ever watched "Growing Pains" you understand, for the most part, they are about the antics of Mike Seaver played by Kirk Cameron. Before he went full born again Christian. He was born again here. And some of the animosity can be seen by segueing the storylines a little beyond him. Much like "Family Ties" when the star becomes one person, the rest of the cast get antsy. Understood. In season 6, Mike has now fully invested himself into becoming an actor. His father Jason, is fed up so he decides a different approach. By encouraging him. To an extent where he practically forces him to take an audition as a "doofus" for a soap opera. Mike goes to the audition and while there meets a famous star from a show from the past that was VERY popular. Mike gushes over him -- star struck. The famous actor is nice, but sees that Mike's enthusiasm is a little off-putting. He tells Mike he is there to audition for this other lead role that was created for the soap opera. Mike is there to audition for the role of the doofus. The famous actor encourages Mike and kindly gives him a thumbs up. Cut to: now Jason and Maggie (Mike's Mom) are in the kitchen. And Jason is convinced Mike will be rejected and come to realize staying in school was much more important. Mike enters, and doesn't get the doofus role. Instead, he has been given the lead! This obviously backfires on Dad. The next day, Mike goes for a wardrobe fitting and runs into the famous actor again. He gushes that he got the lead role in the soap opera to which the famous actor is mildly happy for him. But a little uneasy. We discover that the famous actor had gotten the role of the doofus. Mike wonders aloud how someone so famous could take such a role. For which the famous actor blows up at Mike and tells him that not everything will ever work out. You take what you can and storms out. I recall seeing this episode as a kid and not really understanding the gravity of this industry. There are no lines drawn in our war. And a famous person today is labelled a has-been later. AND enthusiastic newbies are clueless as to what does befall everyone who wants to be in this business. A similar story is how I was a crane grip for a guy who I pestered with questions. To an extent where I sensed he was dodging me. A few months later I was a director of photography on a large shoot and he was renting our production a steadicam. He had to watch as I was in charge and the confused look on his face summed up the stupidity of show business. Washed up, un-castable, unusable. This is what causes the bitterness. So I racked my brain as to how to circumvent what is the inevitable. That when this town doesn't care about you, or your name is no longer anything...they discard you. The saddest ones are the ones who are in the shadows still waiting for their break. So here's how you navigate this. Don't care about them...care about your work. Though you may not be rich or famous in this business you know the stories you want to tell or the projects you want to be a part of. I would not suggest putting your goals to an extent where you sacrifice your dignity or craft. It's a double edged sword to be "successful" in Hollywood and maintain a semblance of humanity. Directors and actors, for the most part, do not think they are better than you...they are scared that their place at the table will be taken by the next generation. That is why you hear so much bitterness. To combat this, simply say "this business doesn't interest me. Making craft does" Not only say it, but mean it.

Pride Month...Yup

Happy Father's Day Everyone!

I am surrounded by people who have had very complex relationships with their Dad. My Dad is un-complex. "You eating enough?" "How's the job?" "Car okay?" Then hang up. Hollywood is full of people whose Dads are just complete shit. It makes sense since they live for the approval of others. And they can never be good enough. Though most won't admit it. Afterall, who likes to think they share DNA with a shit. But I am very lucky, grateful and glad my Pop was a good dude. I would say great man, because he taught me a work ethic. Yes, I got EXTREMELY lucky with my career path. But, at the same time, it was watching my Dad work every day and own his own business that infused the love of the American Dream. Most people who were born and raised here don't see the opportunities given to them. Therefore, don't have gratitude for it. Most actors out here suffer this the most. A lack of parental guidance and love. Most of their Dads are unrepentant dirtbags. Of course, most of them live in some denial that they grew up with such a sack of shit. My nephew has a Dad who is a sack of shit. And he is listless. That is the result of an absentee Father. They find getting in trouble will attract a disciplinarian. In some cases, prison is the better alternative. The point is to get beyond your shitty luck in life. You can't choose your parents. Well, wait, I guess some orphans can. I had this conversation with a friend recently, who is an orphan. He is an entitled sack of shit. Useless on all levels and have no bigger aspirations to do much more than to hustle other people. He got into music and is (supposedly) making albums. He complains about how things aren't coming to him. Instead of working. I guess his idea of working is complaining. Then he blames everyone else for his misfortunes. Yes, these people exists. I love my Dad. He is what every dude wishes they had in their lives. This may sound like hyperbole, but after listening to the people in this town about their Pop, I see my Dad as a saint.

So America being the only country in the world that recognizes slavery is a bad thing made another federal holiday where we get time off. Which is cool. Here's my rub, I find it ironic that Father's Day and Juneteenth happened to fall on the same day. Since the Black community has the worse statistics of no Fathers in the household. They are the ones who think they're smarter than you because...um...well, at this point you're a token recruit. Any Ivy League school patronizes the color community. Except Asians. Why Did "Lightyear" Not Succeed?

I wouldn't call any Pixar movie a failure ever. But if you're gonna back stupid fucking vomit mouth Chris Evans in his idiotic Leftist views, you deserve to be dinged in the pocketbook. Simple solution is that you announce him to be actor non-gratis and bankrupt the shitty hypocrite. That's if you care. But Disney backs homosexual shit. I Was Conned!

I fell for the oldest con in the history of cons. Well, except for that one in ancient Egypt. This one is the White Van Con. In the old days, it would be stereos and speakers. Today, it's high definition projectors. It slowly sunk in that I was dumb enough to fall for this. But then I started thinking...it really was my own greed to undid me. The con is simple: See dummy at gas station and ask if he wants a high priced electronic that he has inventory for. In this case, a Middle aged White guy in a White Van. I knew it was a con, yet...the skill of a con man is to persisting but not be pushy. Remarkable considering that it didn't look like I have any money at all. Then, a few words exchanged, personal information about himself (most likely lies) and then I was out $400. I started to fume how dumb I was, and that I should have gone with my instinct. The most awful thing that keeps playing in my head is his statement "I knew I found the right guy" Meanwhile in his head, it was probably "what a fucking idiot!" The even more remarkable thing is even after the con, he stuck around and chatted with me...for nearly an hour. Now, here's why I'm not THAT upset. In the world we live in now, there are a ton of homeless and...lazy. I'm not saying homeless are lazy but I'm saying there are a small population of our society that isn't willing to do anything. This dude did such a song and dance, I couldn't help but be amused at the lengths he'd go to to con me. It was like I paid $400 for a show. While I felt stupid falling for it, I applaud his efforts, and in a way donated to the performance. The other thing as to why I wasn't upset: my own greed. See, I didn't need a projector...I wanted to flip it for more money. In that sense, the con is that he fed on my own greed. While he walked off with my money, most likely proud of his ruse, I sit here today wondering as to my own greed. Again, with the economy as it is, $400 isn't going to take him far. It's sad that his conscience and my greed costs that much. I look back on this now with a stomach sickness but not anger. Disappointment and pity that we live like this now. And I'm not justifying our behavior. Yes, folks, I totally take responsibility for my own stupidity. Because I saw opportunity to make MORE money. It wasn't just that I felt I was getting a deal, it was that I could double my "investment." The guy is going to go through life conning people. Some of these people won't learn or care. That's for them to decide. For me, I am not going to sell my own conscience for any amount of money. In this case, I almost feel bad that someone's dignity costs so little.

I don't think many Lefties out here in Los Angeles do much for the poor community. If they knew the reality of their every day existence, they'd puke in their elite bowlers. The truth is, L.A. This El Salvadorean neighbor, who is very nice, is epically retarded. He votes Democrat. Thinks they're doing great for California. Meanwhile, complains about homeless. He's from El Salvador, so disgusting garbage pit shithole is where he comes from. He also smokes a lot of weed. Total phony. He was indoctrinated a long time ago. So, therein lies the problem. In Defense Of Gay-Ass Disney

I remember in college a flamboyant dude, who was clearly gay, going with me to see "Titantic" He cried like a bitch. I hate that movie. And glad Leo drowned. He probably got the brunt of all mocking in small town Ohio. I mean, even more than my brown ass. So anyway, why are people so freaked out that Disney is so gay? Who didn't know this? I think the extreme Righties are upset because now Disney professed their need to indoctrinate their children with gay themes. There was leaked audio of this. Which is diabolical. But I can't imagine it being any weirder than...say...leaking the info about how they want to sell toys to kids. Kids are shitty people. And they will find worse ways to mock the homosexuals. When kids see two same-sex kissing, they will make a comment. Laughter and whatnot. This is a clear case of it not being normal. I suppose Disney wants us to make it normal so kids don't snicker. In the case of "Lightyear" The new Pixar flick which has replaced Tim Allen with Chris Evans. The story is more to the real Buzz Lightyear than the "Toy Story" toy. So it sorta makes sense to replace the guy. Though unnecessary. It would be funny to replace Buzz with a squeaky person voice. Or a voice of a flaming gay guy. Why Today's Society Annoys Me So Much

In Los Angeles, in my business, everyone is the center of attention. For this reason alone, no one has the capacity to hear, digest and be curious about others. The idea is that you live a more charmed life than the person you're supposedly conversing with. Go ahead and actually pay attention. The minute you do, the more annoyed you will become as well. If you go outside the box of "the industry" you tend to reach more "real" people. I once had a friend who was constantly "on" He thought he was the most interesting person in the room. Would say outrageous things for attention. What a sad pathetic person. Multiply this by million and you get the entertainment business. At a certain point, and if you're still paying attention, these people are revealed for who they really are. Their lives are just a shell of what they present themselves to be. Because, honestly, if anyone was more introspective they'd have left the world a long time ago. I press on despite seeing all this and have faith. I've met genuinely interesting people. Who are interested in life. And curious about people. And the world. Though my worldview seems to narrow as I get older. I find people who don't work in the movie business to be much more fascinating. I always had. Because movie people are insulated turds. They tend to be experts at everything based on research and not living. Of course, on paper, everything can be fixed. In reality, they're much more complex.

Johnny Depp Wins Defamation Lawsuit

Johnny Depp wins a bunch of money from the lawsuit against Amber Heard. In a case where he was (ruled) unfairly maligned by a vindictive woman who wanted to end his career. Honestly, he should be peeved at Washington Post for even thinking this idiot was truthful. He should sue the garbage Lefty post. Because they really wanted to get dirt on him. "Top Gun: Maverick"

Was it really necessary to make a second "Top Gun" movie. Somehow the death of original director Tony Scott killed the idea for me. It misses out on a lot of the...superficiality. Believe it or not. Instead, it seems to have wanted to fix what was wrong. And for a pre-pubescent child, watching sexy Kelly McGillis walk in was boner inducing. In this one, you get butched out tough gal Jennifer Connelly. Which seemed to age into an androgynous blah than that sex kitten who rode on the mechanical horse in a loop in "Career Opportunities" She hides her chesticles like they were a detriment. Whilst true, she is now a mother and an adult, no one goes to movies to see or identify with wrinkly people having sex. Ideally, the female pilot with have massive cans with big doe eyes, if it were truly a Tony Scott/Don Simpson/Jerry Bruckheimer joint. At the VERY least big hair. Those days are gone and what it left me with is sadness. I do recall going over to my friend Eric's house and watching the VHS of the original "Top Gun" And just mindlessly enjoying it. This flick made you have to consider backgrounds. Which is really dumb (in this movie). Movies in the 80's were really surfaced. Who gave a fuck about how Iceman felt about anything. He was the blonde teuton who hated Maverick simply for being good at what he does. And the simple...having to live up to Dad's expectations was enough to fuel his anger. Remember when that was enough. Instead, we're in some psychiatric spiral which has Maverick reigniting some weird relationship with a towny bar hag who the present day filmmakers felt needed to have a hobby which makes her as cool. Yeah, they have over 60 hours of footage, and this is what came of it. I'd love to see the dailies to funnel out what could've been. This is that type of movie where you know the tune but you hate the band. They literally re-do Giorgio Moroder/Harold Faltymeyer tune! This movie just saddens me to what could've been. Missing characters, missing glam, missing balls.

Celebrity

A lot of people get into show business obviously because they long to be famous. That's fine, don't begrudge them for it. Why else would you perform for people hoping that they will be so in awe that they hold you in high regard. It's what a lot of people want. Celebrity is also fairly scary. As I've written in the past, I go to these conventions where older celebs come out and meet fans. The thing is...we know them, and think we know them as people, but they don't know us. Never seen anything we do. So I'm sure they're a little taken back when someone can rattle off personal details. Perhaps, sometimes THEY didn't even know. Celebrity is a strange thing. This weekend I was doing a sound mix for my short film. And the mixer had been watching my film for a very long time. He had been watching the actress for quite a long time to get the gist of our project. Within doing so, you tend to make judgements on the talent. Nothing good or bad...just...judgements. He found her to be adorable and pretty and a girl whom one could fall in love with (as I was making a Spielberg type film. Most younger women in Spielberg films happen to have more of that vibe of wholesome crushes). Then we had to do dialogue replacement (term is ADR). She came in to do her dub. And he was just taken back. Here he was watching her on screen...acting...being someone else. The reality just hit him hard: she was sitting in the room with him. The power of celebrity, even as simple as this...was remarkable to hear later on. I feel this way when I've seen actors on screen and then...there they are in person! I saw Richard Dreyfus at the convention. Didn't seem happy to be there. Small person. Seemed like he didn't want to be bothered. I suppose they spend their time there being reminded moments of greatness. In common sense, we believe they would feel honored to be asked about certain roles. In reality, they either forgot, substance abused melted their ability to talk, or that they are tired of telling the story. I find the celebs who embrace their notoriety for certain roles to be the coolest. I spotted Tom Sizemore there as well, and he was very unhappy. He seemed to be suffering through the event (I read his biography). There he was...like I had seen him on screen. I think it's because we shouldn't think people in movies are real. They shouldn't come through the screen and talk to you like a normal person. They should have scripted lines. And you would play along. Their onscreen personnae should carry into the real world. But it doesn't work like that. They are people with flaws and lives. Disappointments, rejections, self=loathing. Like everyone who makes art embodies. It's not bad, because a lot of times...struggles make for better stories.

Ray Liotta

Sure, I know most of you think of Ray as Henry Hill from "Goodfellas" But a deeply underrated role where he plays someone so psychotic it literally shook me up for a while is "Something Wild" A movie directed by Jonathan Demme. In it, he plays a very scary man. A hood, per say. Which seemed to have haunted him from that point on. He, unfortunately got lumped into high strung weirdo roles. Watch him in "Copland" or "Identity" you got the feeling the guy loved cocaine. How the fuck did Tom Sizemore outlive him? Anyway, Ray Liotta defined a little of my life. "Field Of Dreams" had him playing a pretty cool character. And obviously "GoodFellas" was the epitome to me of the beginning of Martin Scorsese's next life. Post that movie. Man, it's hard to think when all the people I saw on the big screen when I was a teen disappear. Take care out in the corn fields Ray. You were a Good Fella.

The Shooting In Texas

I'm sure by now you have gotten the details of the murder of 19 children. Children. That word just echoes in my head. That there are elementary aged people that won't have birthdays any more. The teen who caused immeasurable pain to the community and to their parents sickens me. I mean, last night I stayed up late at night wondering what we did wrong. And I can probably say...once again, my generation failed this world. Too many of my parental peers want to be friends with their kids and not parents. As I was growing up, parents wanted to be adults. And they didn't use terms such as "adulting" to do what you were suppose to do (as Chris Rock had in his bit about being a parent). We are a vain, narcissistic community now that values what body part we show on social media to get attention rather than just existing to raise children. We present our lives on so many visual mediums we ignore the people who need the most attention. I am not giving the shooter and out, but rather saying that he was raised by a grandmother. And not a father. Discipline is a real thing. And yet, none of us want to be presented to the public as having this level of...structure. Because structure "'aint cool" Yes, I blame my gneration because we had that attitude. I have that attitude with younger adults that makes me part of the problem. If we are to point fingers, we do need to look at ourselves for placating poor behavior and not calling it out when we see it. This new society values not punishing bad behavior. George Floyd needs to be called out as a meth'd out loser. Black Lives Matter need to be called out as frauds. Illegal immigration is a crime. The longer we pretend or use this as a way to embolden shitty behavior, the more this will be an issue. The motivation of anger towards small children will never compute with me. Especially lower-income Hispanic kids who were on their way to become second generation Americans. Out of the 19, I am certain one would've become special to society. Versus this asshole who ended their existence. So yes, this has made me so tired. And if we don't address mental illness and gun ownership, there will be another incident. It really gets to me when people say "this will happen again" the LAST time this happened. Like the man who shot up a Buffalo grocery store. It is a sickening feeling. I hate comic book shit to begin with, but I saw the new trailer for this t.v. series when I was alerted to it the Matt Walsh podcast. And it's worse than described. First off, for a company that prides itself on "woke" it makes EVERY single stereotypical woman joke. "Does this make my ass look fat" "Grumpy with a bad disposition? That's every woman's starting point" and so forth. Jesus Marvel, the original Hulk considered himself a man of science. This one is a lawyer. Which you can almost map the hijinks that will ensue in court. Not only is this Hulk NOT undercover, they actually celebrate her...like...in public. Seems this may be an open door for them to tell people like me, that I am an intolerant shit. Even though she will, presumably, destroy portions of the city in anger. Here's to PMS jokes.

Tom Cruise is Top Gun

This movie was in the works FOREVER. They shot over 60 hours of footage, so there's got to be a movie there. Also, it's a sequel no one really asked for. I mean, made more sense if they'd made it...um...30 years earlier. It's not like anyone asked "Hey, what happens to Pete Mitchell after top gun school?" No one even knows who the fuck Pete Mitchell is. No, dude, that's Maverick! But here we are again. Re-living the 80's. Not sure what Tom Cruise's motivation is to re-visit this. Kelly McGillis has gone mountain woman weird. Anthony Edwards as Goose is dead. Val Kilmer...is Val Kilmer. And the baby oil volleyball game is...sadly...dead as well (here, it tooks like beach football ala "Point Break"). The original "Top Gun" was horrible to begin with. Even Tony Scott (God rest his soul) understood the stupidity of the project. But it certainly made Naval aviation look great. Recruitment, jingoistic movies are slowly creeping in again. Just saw Sam Raimi's new "Doctor Strange and Multiverse Of Madness" Not a very good flick. It's a lot thrown at us and all amounts to very little. In the movie, there is a scene where America (ah!) Gomez has a vision of her parents. Who happen to be two dykes. The bad thing here is...who fucking cares about this scene? It doesn't have any bearing on THIS storyline. Which is already throwing too many things at you. The second thing is...they did it right. Yes, they are two muff divers. No, they don't make a big deal out of it. It's just two people doing stuff. Though it does stick out like a sore thumb because it has no bearing on the story they are telling. They shoehorned it in. But glad they didn't hammer you over the head like they are homos. And that's the other thing..,it wasn't like they were making out in the scene to staple the point that Marvel wants more gay imagery. It's just matter of fact. Which is the way to do it. Too many shows center their stories to constantly bring this up. America, nor Doc Strange make a big deal of it. That is this world and they're okay with it. Done deal.

Why NetFlix Is Failing

I hate Netflix. Had it a few years ago, saw the same shit every day. And then there were those titles that made you think it was something else and then bamboozled you into watching. "Battle L.A." apparently isn't the same as "Battle: Los Angeles" But, I also hate them because they took great glee in destroying video stores. A nice trip to a video store often was a break from humdrum life. Or if I had to get out of the house after editing or writing. It was also a nice way...if you work in the movies, to read the pitch. Or "elevator pitch" An industry term meaning the amount of time it takes to tell your story should be the same time it takes to ride an elevator. Sure you can still do this in Netflix. Probably made more more convenient. Any key phrases to entice you into watching was a gain. Then box art was the other thing that drew you in. I swear, some movies probably spent more on their box art than their production. It almost seemed to as you perused through countless video boxes, you had to stop at the one that was flashing lights and cackling. Like some fucked up Hallowe'en gimmick. But you read the box cover. There was also a guy one time who analyzed the box art and found that 1 out of 4 box covers had a gun on it. Funny stuff. Netflix is failing because it spends too much money on stupid shit. Like a contract for Obama. Or movies that push stupid social agendas. Yeah, I know that isn't the whole truth, but there is a redneck in Arkansas that may have had the service but opted out. He may have found another alternative that isn't so quick to pretend men can have children. Multiple that dude by 1000 and then let it spiral. I think a lot of these tech giants forget the people it wants to cater to. The unwashed. They think the college student will pick up the pace for content. You'd be wrong. They follow trends. And Netflix is so yesterday. I haven't had Netflix in nearly a decade and never even thought of them. Until they started making movies. Fuck what a dumb idea. Sorta. They couldn't produce things fast enough for humans to consume. So these assholes stretched themselves way too thin. Yeah, ambitious as they are, quite stupid to leap to the biggest overhead you could. Guess they got bored acquiring things. Seems the easiest way to make a buck. But also, by making their own films, seems they kept all profits. Same with the way they started to acquire theaters in town here in L.A. They bought theaters so they could win acclaim. How pathetic is that? Bloat is catching up to them.

Johnny Depp

The new story in Hollywood is the defamation lawsuit from Johnny Depp to ex-wife Amber Heard over being accused of physical abuse which led to Depp losing a lot of work. I've only met Depp once, and he is really gracious to workers. Obviously this is the personae he presents to himself. Between him and Keith Richards, it's hard to imagine who dresses more flamboyantly. A lot of designers throw clothes at these two. I'm sure Depp's wardrobe when I saw him costs more than my car and everything I own. I don't know the details of their relationship. Though both parties seem to be...very dramatic. This is the case between a narcissists and a borderline personality disorder'd woman. It seems like. This is not a confirmation. I've never heard a bad thing about Depp professionally. When he shows to work...he works. The other day I was just thinking about Richard Grieco...as one does. He was really the replacement of Depp who left "21 Jumpstreet" to be a more serious actor. Grieco got his own show called "Booker" Fox really wanted him to be a thing. But he also fell into some substance issues, ruined his looks with something...and disappeared. I sense most of this is the template of Mickey Rourke. Serious actors have serious demons. We all did in the late 90's. Most Americans can't really understand how successful beautiful people can implode. Any way, I saw Richard Grieco at one of those celebrity signing conventions. He was jovial, upbeat and seemed genuinely glad to meet fans. I've experienced some actors who show up drunk or high and can't keep a conversation. Others don't care to talk to you. They're there to sign a thing and hope you leave them alone. The less work they do, the more per hour they get. That said, you know...I do believe Depp. The older he gets the weirder he seems. He speaks in a odd clipped language that seems scripted. He isn't as quippy as he use to be. I'm not sure when his "lines" start to feel phony. He seemed like such a real person to me. But it may just be guarded language. I think he'll work again. This whole thing seems publicity driven. Though a lot of details are coming out to the public. Particularly how he is consumed with addiction. And how he addresses his girlfriends/wives as "cunts" To be honest, in a previous text to an ex, you'd think I were unhinged. They live somewhere out there. As we all have written or said terrible things to people we thought we loved or loved and lost. We are cruel to one another...no doubt.

You know what's really baffling? I don't listen to CNN or Fox. I typically listen to podcasts. I am always surprised when I conclude something that goes against Lefty ideas and I'm labeled a Fox watcher. I laugh my ass off because that's how stupid they are. No, I drew my own conclusions and eventually came up with my own thoughts. Podcasts has a modicum of free speech. Not media. And certainly not main stream legacy media. If you use them to back up your ideas, you are a moron and deserve to be ignored. You can ignore me all you want. That's the point. That's what freedom really is. I am, however, most baffled by the Lefty media. They think you're an idiot. Joey Biden is a drooling moron who can't put words together. Meanwhile, they try to run cover for him. Idiots who watch CNN or CNBC or whatever go along with this because...um...Trump's mean. You fucking idiot. I guarantee you benefitted from Trump and not this idiot. Biden could've easily gotten out of this recession (that's about to happen). But he, or really the people who are pulling his retarded strings, are guiding it. We Should Be Dead

There was a very young man who died in the dunes somewhere in Cali. They were film students and out there shooting something. Details are pending. What we do know is that they were in a dune buggy and the guy who died wasn't wearing a seatbelt. Personal accountability. It's so weird, the crazy dumb shit we use to do. And the one thing we have to get through our heads is that human life is not worth one movie. And we all don't think it would happen to us, but it does. And that's it. Dumb mistakes happen on every shoot. Everyone is tired and sometimes we run on adrenaline. Very difficult to explain to people who do this. But there are environmental issues we cannot control. Movie sets are all uncontrollable, despite the efforts it takes to be safe. So the last thing you want to do is to risk anything that may costs lives. Unfortunately, we haven't learned this yet. And more lives will be lost. Because we want that ultimate shot. Think about this...let's say you're behind schedule and on the camera you have a prime lens. The sun is setting and you have to get that glorious shot. Instead of switching out lens (which takes time) you take a step back. Then back further. Then you fall off a cliff. Roll your eyes if you want. This has happened. All for what? It is near impossible to regulate any of this. Laws are made for the lack of common sense. Pair this with the fact that everyone wants to be the hero on a set. Let's say you run to get the last roll of film or hard drive, and you trip and fall? This has happened. Laugh all you want. The issue is that no shot, movie or anything else is worth harming yourself. It's like the assholes who drive recklessly. They don't understand pain until they suffer it. Be safe in production. Don't try to be the hero when it risk lives. You are responsible for each other. Take five seconds to think if it feels dangerous. Please.

Expectations

If you work in Hollywood, don't have expectations. In other words "if I do this...this will happen" Because it won't. About 99.9% of the time. Some of you may be wondering if that isn't just a failure attitude. Nope. It's actually the opposite. You don't focus on your failures this way. Because that is never on the table. When you shed this thought, you gain freedom. Expectations have nearly ruined every person with talent. Because they think that the world means they get what they want. The "dream board" for instance was the most pathetic thing ever. I knew someone who did that. He was a colossal loser. So the point being, don't have expectations in what you do and just fucking do it.

No Redemption For Pedophiles

Dwayne Haskins

NFL quarterback Dwayne Haskins died when he was hit by a dump truck as he was walking on the I-595 freeway in South Florida. The story is that his rental car ran out of gas. A strange story if you don't factor in that he is a gazillionaire. I am an Ohio State Buckeyes fan and recall watching Dwayne dominate games. Big and brawny, he reminded me of Steve McNair (another one who died tragically young). Dwayne always seemed cheery. Don't recall him having any issues within the team. And definitely wasn't like a previous Buckeye quarterback Cardale Jones who thought school was a waste of time (in his case, it was very true). Dwayne was a big pick to go to the Washington Redskins. And got PAID. So much so GQ did a segment of him spending his first millions. How very...um...NFL. His time with that team was bad. I mean, he threw more interceptions than touchdowns and is considered a bust. Most OSU quarterbacks are bad. Not sure why teams scout them for leadership positions. OSU is known for defensive players. And the occasional wide receiver. That is why his death is so baffling. My guess. A thoughtless moment of a poor decision. That really sums up all our lives. A simple dumb mistake can end it all. And most likely, that's all it takes for most of us. My friend had posted in the past that growing old is a privilege. And I really do agree with her. A lot of us will grow old. Most of us live with the idea that death is our lottery ticket and will eventually cash in. That is the reality. The sudden death of Dwayne at 24 is shocking because his life is done here on Earth. This is why I constantly remind myself that petty things are inconsequential to the grand scheme. The older you get the more you realize how fast time moves. Live it up when you can. Enjoy the air you breathe and the food you eat and the people you meet.

Louis CK Gets A Grammy

Grammys are useless. They use to stand for excellence in audio recording. But then...rap. They rewarded rap. Rap sucks. I dig hip-hop though. There is a distinction. Anyway, they gave Louis a Grammy. And people are pissed because he was the dude who jerked off in front of women...with their consent. You know...I knew a few people who use to do stupid things like this. I'm not sure what was wrong with them, but I never found that funny. Some like to say horrific things just to get your reaction. Plenty of actors in the past I knew that thought this was edgy. I was sicken by it, because I thought people who said shit like this were mentally stunted. There are more clever ways to express humor. It is easy to be vulgar. Shock humor is no longer shocking because there is so much of that content everywhere now. But people are pissed Louis gets a Grammy. They are rewarding a supposed sexual aggressor. Cuckholded men think this as well as White Lefty women. The rest of us find him funny. But both these demographics are fucking loud. And they get a platform. Because their outrage gets clicks. Get it yet? They don't care about the Grammy or whatever. They care about attention. And having the power to cancel people they don't like. We made a terrible mistake when we allowed these people to designate what is language. They say stupid shit like "freedom of speech but not freedom to be punished for it" Dumb fucking stupid fucking shit. Bruce Willis

If you ever get a chance to watch "Moonlighting" I implore you to give it a chance. It is slapstick humor done in night time drama. A dramedy. It doesn't surprise me that the powers that be saw Bruce Willis's charm and thought he could make a movie star...of some kind. He wasn't traditionally handsome, but you felt like he could be the Dad next door. His career was obviously launched by "Die Hard" (1988) which solidified his name into pop culture. He recently announced that he is retiring from acting due to a brain disorder that is causing him too much issues with remembering his lines. A sad reminder that even John McLane will have to hang up his spurs at some point. The thing with acting, as with professional sports seems to be...you leave the business kicking and screaming. Or, in this case, with nature telling you you must stop. Looking back at Bruce Willis's career is pretty amazing. He has done small comedies, big comedies, drama, sex dramas and...well you name it, he did it. Made pretty much more remarkable that he was able to shoehorn himself into any genre. Think about it...in what world could Bruce Willis find Terry Gilliam today? "12 Monkeys" was a project that made people realize he wasn't just a guy who could hold a gun. He endured the silliness of "Color Of Night" And...the guy just reminded America of America. Also, we didn't know his politics. We did know his personal life with Demi. They were the center of attention with their time together. Though I never followed celebrity relationships, it was interesting to see why the media thought we needed to know about him. He didn't seem to be a promoter either. Except when it came to Planet Hollywood. And even then, he was overshadowed by Arnold Schwarzenegger. There have been stories of his behavior. That he could be demanding. Have quirks with the crew. But none of it seemed to be as destructive as his contemporaries. If we're talking action...Jean Claude Van Damme or Steven Seagal. He seemed to just like making movies. Nor was he that much pretentious about this vocation. Stand and say your lines. But he was committed. Regardless of how disastrous the outcome was ("Broadway Brawler" has a history worth investigating). But he was stayed relatively away from the limelight late in his career, only to pop up in odd straight-to-streaming projects that have soiled a bit of his career. I am saddened that I won't get to see another "Die Hard" Not because the franchise went anywhere. But because it reminded me that Bruce was still working. Bruce in movies meant things were good. There won't be another like him. A better looking Humphrey Bogart. I can only thank him for the adventures he's brought.

Learn To Control Yourself, Will Smith

What is surprising is after Will Smith smacked Chris Rock, no one went to Rock's defense. May be a statement on how this sycophantic audience sees freedom of speech: it only exists if they like what you're saying. OR, they're a bunch of pussies. In fact, they gave Smith a standing ovation having finally won his first Oscar. Since Smith is a bankable star and Rock is...well, kinda been missing, the powers that be of the Hollywood execs have kept quiet. I think slapping someone for telling a joke sets a really bad precedent. And Smith should be getting off so easily. Clearly the rules have now been adjusted because of the situation. In this case, to also protect his wife Jada. For some reason, this makes it okay with the social elitist. Much like the workers at the Academy wearing a mask whilst the elitist tells jokes and smack each other. We are truly living in a time of nonsense. We should also address Smith's inability to control his physical anger. The entire Hollywood community should condemn this man. But they're cowards and we know it. To them, the attack was justified. Which is a sickening take. Eventually, a person they care about will be assaulted. Now, to be fair, this is between these two guys. They will need to patch things up and clear the air together. Smith can't just tweet something and everything is fine. In a civilized society, he needs to make amends in which Rock is satisfied. But again, rich people with rich people problems. This incident may culminate in Smith's career. With all that has gone with his history, it's shitty to think, he will only be remembered as the Slap Guy. I happen to like both of these guys. Though I've never dealt with them personally, they seem to love entertaining people. And to bring some joy into people's lives is to be commended. To influence people into physical violence when you don't like what someone said...well, that's social media shit.

Oscar Fight!

I didn't watch any of this nonsense. BUT, I did see the unedited clip of Will Smith cheap shotting comedian Chris Rock. I'm sure there were a lot of people who wanted to do this to a comedian. But it is more baffling how Smith isn't in jail. Black privilege, I suppose. Anyone in Hollywood are cowards. No one came to the defense of Rock. Only Will Smith, because he made a joke about, wife Jada Smith's bald ass head. Because she suffers from...alopecia. Um...it's not a life threatening thing. I would understand it more if she was dying and this was a Make-A-Wish moment. Disgusting. So Hollywood just showed what it really was... the class clown got slapped by the popular kid over a slight on the guy's girlfriend. And all of the tux crowd did nothing. In fact, they rewarded him for acting. It's laughable when it's said out loud. And if Hollywood cared what impression it makes on society, it certainly didn't care. The bubble of celebrity is real. In other words, it doesn't care. And you shouldn't care about them. They're loathsome animals. Which reminds me, for an organization that depends on representing African Americans in media, it is a bad look to have two get into a physical altercation in the world. A mass population outside of America will say to themselves "This is how those animals act. N-words gonna n-word" You know what actually promoted this? Will Smith's kid. Who tweeted that "that's how we do it" Uh-huh. I thought we live in a civilized society. You Don't Know What A Woman Is?

Even the dumbest child on Earth can define it. Women have a vagina and boobs and can give birth to children. Duh. If this nominee had any dignity, she would've declined with a simple sentence..."I'm not for this administration to be used as a pawn" BUT, she'd never do that. She has no dignity or shame. Fixing The Oscars

The Lefties of this town are wondering if the Oscars are dead. Yep. But like ghoulish zombies the people at the perimeter of this town function as there is a solution to repair. Just make the show full of comedy. Stop talking politics and make fun of the movies themselves. Simple. Billy Crystal did it. With great effect. A very nice nudge that we shouldn't take this shit seriously. Get rid of movies that have a social message. We use to be taught that universal message was the universal link between us. Somewhere along the line someone thought it was a good idea to infuse movies with overt messaging. This is bad. Because most of American don't agree with Hollywood bubbles. This industry is clueless to the values of America. The rest know and attempt to change that system. The American people inherently know what value systems work. And typically it isn't stupid shit like homosexuality, drug addicted losers, or glorifying criminality like Black Lives Matter. It's things like friendship, kindness and it's okay to be lonely. Most movies need to celebrate core values more. Family units and such. You don't have to shove down our throats interracial marriages anymore. No one cares. It doesn't have to be the main focus of every film. Go back to the movie star system. We don't have this anymore and it's such a shame. Movie stars were untouchable Gods on Earth. This lost a lot of gas in the 70's when you saw actors act like...well, humans. Jack Nicholson comes to mind. He was too real and relatable. Therefore, he was us...in real life. While it's true we're curious what celebrities do when they're not in movies, we really forgot that movie stars are also heroes. Which is my other point...make them Gods. It is now fashionable to make stars seem more like regular people. So much so, in this town, that when one runs into Brad Pitt, you go up to him and talk to him like he was a normal dude. While he is a normal dude, there is no glamour in discussing smoothie recipes. You think Cary Grant did that? Let the legend grow with word of mouth. Celebs need to stay off social media. They're idiotic brains think Americans care. You are actually working backwards, because anything a celeb says is precisely the opposite of what America wants. I know a lot of them are full of shit phonies. They're conservative but have to pretend they're not. How sad. Make movies about America. Enough of these foreign fucks getting into American films. Jane Campion, as Sam Elliot says, has no fucking clue about the American west. It's not a catastrophic idea for her to do a western, only that to celebrate it gives creedence to foreign person interpreting what is our American history. IF you believe one a Black person can direct a "black experience" movie, the same could be said about the west. And no shit ass flicks like "Parasite" That's a straight up Korean film no one in Middle America cares about. For the love of God dump the song and dance numbers. Who fucking cares about Manuel Lin whatever his fucking name is. It's corny and gay. Make the ceremony 2 hours max. Easily done by dumping prancing. Actually remember that you make movies for middle America. This town has a horrific sense of self-importance. Most of Middle America doesn't give a flying shit about homosexuals or plight of the colored man. It's overdone and if people want to see it, they can seek it out. That is a tiny percentage of interest compared to stories about families. Nuclear families. Most people are Mom (female) Dad (male) and kids (whatever). They don't fucking care about transgender garbage. They don't. Repeat until it gets through your thick skulls. Get out of your comfort zone and go talk to Americans. Real Americans. They're fascinating people with fascinating stories. Specifically the older ones who lived through some real shit. Because of the virtual world, the human experience is at the precipice of extinction. Go out. Get out. And tell tales that may help a broader audience. Stop fucking preaching.
