Not to belabor the subject, but can we PLEASE get away from the drama that goes on behind the scenes in movies? I like the tale to be told...say...20 to 30 years later. But during the initial release it's total smear campaign. Does it effect the way you'll see a movie? Probably not. It never does. EVERY production is problematic. You don't have to dig all that deep to find the garbage of egos and personalities fighting. Val Kilmer is constantly lambasted for his behavior on set. NOW...I love those stories, back in the day of "Ghost & The Darkness" or "Red Planet" it made no sense. The movie had to stand for what it stood for. The fact that Kilmer may've been a shit does nothing for my interest. And again...EVERY SINGLE MOVIE I've ever been a part of has had issues. Think about this, in 1939 when they were making "Gone With The Wind" they had so many re-writes, volumes of binders had pages of different color on every page.
"Titanic" had food poisoning. And the crew wanted to mutiny against Iron Jim Cameron. Most of the original crew quit "The Revenant" and so forth. These are never mention come acceptance speech time. Very few people know (or care) if you listen to Burt Reynolds' speech at the Golden Globes for "Boogie Nights" he'd fired his agent for setting up that project. Then Reynolds went on to bad-mouth everyone involved.
So that's the movie business. Sets are troubled because stress, money and time. There isn't a production out there now that is lacking in one or all three.
