Sorry guys, as much as I am a massive Buckeye homer, that game against Indiana was a half-effort. And is indicative of your attitude towards the game. If there was any fairness, they should be de-throned this week. Humbling as it is, they should be knocked down to 3...at best (in the AP poll). This is not to take away the massive effort of Indiana. Man, did they play with heart. They were 4-0 coming into the match. And they played like they wanted it. And should have gotten it. It would've been a sharp kick to them to realize that they are playing dumb, acting dumb and very immature for a team that gutted three massive football programs the year before. As Mack Brown said during the halftime, they are going through champion slump. To exceed and motivate after this accomplishment isn't easy.
The rating system is tough though. They try to put together what they see as a great matchup, but inevitably, it comes out to popularity. Ohio State travels well. Alabama travels well. Texas travels well. Does TCU or Baylor? Does Michigan State? Dunno. I did see a few MSU tees here during their Rose Bowl. But this is the system we decided to have. Playoffs is a record thing. The best record gets in, I guess. Then it's strength of schedule (subjective). Many constantly believe the Big Ten doesn't deserve a single team in, but they have proven to beat the Pac-12 or the SEC. I've always respected the SEC. I don't think it has anything to do with how I grew up, since I was always Big Ten. But the SEC is so varied. So many big name players in the NFL came from the SEC. They were fast, competitive, and recruited well. Every game was like a bowl game. The Big Ten, in comparison always had a few stragglers. Indiana or Northwestern was strange, since they are massively academic. As was Purdue. I always considered Big Ten blockheads. "I play fooot-bool" smash 'em and run. They are ugly as fuck. And dirty.
As much as I hate to say it, Buckeyes, you need to be humbled.
Say, like..Notre Dame. Fuck you Brian Kelly. This piece of shit abandoned Cincinnati Bearcats at a time when they made their first bowl game in decades. I curse him. And take great joy every time he loses and he turns beet red. Because it's a matter of time before he gets dumped into the same futile bin as Lou Holtz. I'm not even a Bearcats fan, but that's cowardly garbage. Couldn't even finish the season because he was salivating at the Notre Dame job. Be careful what you wish for.
