The biggest losers I know in life are the ones who don't admit they're wrong.
People who are late to events, have a strong political stance, advice on employment.
The simple truth is, these people are afraid to say they don't know everything. Unfortunately the older you get, the worse it gets. I think age is suppose to be about wisdom. So people are insecure when the older they get the less they actually know. Or want to know. I have co-workers who are in their 60's who never apologize for being wrong. OR not understanding the explanation you give then barreling through, screwing things up and then never apologizing. Should they? Not to me. But to themselves. The biggest failures in life don't understand this. They believe it's weakness to show that you have made a mistake.
This is not to say you have to take everything as your fault. Not at all. Only that you own up to things. This helps you re-evaluate and get better, as a person.
It's aggravating only that it proves some people have a cap at their learning capacity. Or worse, can't see society for any worth. That's a dangerous person. Though a healthy cynicism towards the population, it's NEVER a good idea to think you've learned all you need to learn about human behavior. I'm fascinated by the mentality of these people since they aren't too far from the people who've resigned themselves in life. They've seen enough to categorize all people. And yes, I sometimes fall into this category, but I recognize that there are people who surprise me. Some people will never be convinced. And that's a shame.
